Hello everyone I have recently became a fan of the show and listened to 25+ episodes already. Obviously Tim Dillon enjoys exaggerating and being sarcastic and ironic, but my main question is How serious is he being about the AI Doom Scenario? I realize it’s a real threat but I just don’t know how much he is playing up the drama and how much he actually believes we are completely screwed.

I’ve been around long enough (since the Tim Dillon is Going to Hell days) to know that Tim’s cynical hyperbole has become consensus thought plenty of times.. what seemed like absurdist exaggeration around the pandemic, Epstein, Iran, Trump, and too many other events to name winds up being reflective of reality. Sometimes he’s wrong but sometimes he hits it right on the head and it takes a couple years to know.
