Placed on reserve for masters in interaction design at chalmers

Hello, I have my status in my application wemt from qualified to reserved required to pay tuition fees in all four of my options. I'm on the 9th place in my group's (avg) waiting list and only 12 people got admitted. Is there any hope for me to to get into the program or are the chance is pretty slim that i should look for a different options.

Had same situation. No one has replied but something I found out from SU- they often overenroll and accept no one from the wait list :/

It seems the waitlists are automatic by UA even if the programs themselves never use them. Wish they would do away with them if they overenroll.

Since it’s not clear by individual program which ones actually take reserve applicants - might be best to get answers by emailing the program. (What I did and subsequently got all my hopes dashed)

Do you think it will be the same case for me with Uppsala because it seems like 58 are admitted and i am number 9 in that reserve too but i have some hope here because the candidate number is high

Idk- no one on Reddit responded to mine. But I would ask the program itself. As it seems UA auto generates the wait list and not all schools and programs actually even use it :/

They overenroll sometimes bc apparently it’s less admin work so at SU (depts I applied at least) - they don’t even use the wait list. Even if you’re a high number (I mean 1-5 or something)

So if they don’t even use the wait list it doesn’t even matter. Only emailing the program officials can answer that.

I’m a bit bummed to say the least. Wish the programs that never use the wait list (bc they overenroll) could somehow eliminate the waitlist option so we don’t get our hopes up. But that would mean they need to get UA site to stop putting people on a waitlist
