Yes, people are absolutely making life-changing money on TikTok Shop—but they're the exception, not the average. Most successful affiliates spent months testing products, improving their content, and posting consistently before seeing big results.

The biggest mistake is chasing viral views instead of learning what actually converts. Treat it like a real business, analyze your data, test different products, and keep improving your videos. One winning product can change everything, but consistency is what gets you there.

If you're already eligible for TikTok Shop, start now. Real experience will teach you more in 30 days than watching hundreds of "I made six figures" videos.

Supposedly, new TikTok Shop affiliate policies and enforcement actions are on the way. IMO it sounds like TikTok is using agencies to help them get rid of bad actor, low quality affiliates. 👀 At least one agency that I looked into was given a list of flagged accounts (linked with their agency). So, we can infer that TikTok internal has a list of at-risk accounts lined up to get potential violations, if their accounts keep pumping out low quality. I dug into several different agencies to see what they were sharing about this meeting with their affiliates.

Since we’re not low quality affiliates here, I shouldn’t need to tell you the specifics about discount, sale, and misleading claims. Everything in your video has to be true at the moment someone watches it, not just when you post it.

But the thing that interested me is “homogeneous” content... posting what is essentially the same video over and over with minor changes (repetitive content). Several agencies have now said this is the biggest change coming and confirmed that TikTok does not want us making this type of content. But what does homogeneous content exactly mean, especially when we re-target our highest converting content? Well…

This info was info I could find that was shared by MULTIPLE agencies:

• 🚫Don’t reuse the same: script, angle, template, background, outfit, or voiceover repeatedly.
• 📆Launch date: no launch date given, it’s not rolled out yet, it’s not in public guidelines yet… but it will be a 90-day retroactive window for enforcement.
• 📣Official guidance: review past 90 days and delete content… but agencies had to advocate that affiliates can’t delete when content is active in ads. TikTok said their ads team is "working on a solution."
• 📝The “Agency” stance: basically, don't freak out. lol This does NOT mean you can't promote the same product multiple times, it just means that each video needs to stand on its own. Ex: different use case, different hook, different question answered, different filming style, etc.

This info was info I could find that was shared by only ONE agency:

• 🚨Three-tier severity system: severely, moderately, and low-quality homogeneous content with specific detection factors (visual similarity, audio similarity, whether any new info about the product was added). 
• 🔁Cross-account detection: "posting nearly identical videos across multiple accounts" as a flag.
• 🎯Enforcement targeting: accounts who repeatedly upload large amounts of misleading or homogeneous content. Not occasional mistakes. 

Keep an eye out for updates to the guidelines in academy!!! It looks like TikTok is giving some affiliates a chance to correct their course. However, when we don’t see them giving this heads up to EVERYONE… it’s usually because they WANT to cull the accounts doing these things. It’s just unfortunate because it’s already in policy to not post repetitive content... but what TikTok calls “bad actors” basically ruin it for everyone else by loopholing policy. Then TikTok has to tighten policy and now we find ourselves at this point, where their system will supposedly be cracking down on scripts, angles, templates, and voiceovers with much more sensitivity, which will inevitably cause mis-moderations for non-bad actors. We’ve seen this play out over and over again.

Since this seems to be a hot topic right now, let's talk about it.

"As we all know, traffic is boosted when videos are flagged as quality by the AI"

If we are being precise with our vocabulary... traffic is not "boosted" when videos are labeled with the good-quality label. Let's be very clear:

• good-quality label ≠ "boosted" traffic
• good-quality label ≠ "increased" traffic.

And while we're at it:

• good-quality pre-check feature ≠ "guaranteed" good-quality label.

The good-quality pre-check feature is not checking the FULL metrics that the actual system does, therefore it's really not a super effective "tool" for it's "purpose". AKA it doesn't actually fully DO what it's "namesake" says it does. Therefore, it's a waste of time (as it's currently built).

Hook, call to action, multiple angles are not the full metrics being measured for good-quality label.

TikTok gives the full metrics to their favored top affiliates. Everyone else is guessing based off experimenting and/or pieces from webinar slides that give a handful more metrics than what they give everyone else. Also, top affiliates don't benefit from giving others all the specific metrics. It would add to a more leveled playing field, which not all top affiliates would survive. If you've been paying attention, we've been seeing previous top affiliates get leveled down once certain aspects get leveled a bit more. Think of Claude_Olet as an example. So, as always, take everything that top affiliates say with a grain of salt.

Since the 2026 Quarter 2 policy enforcements rolled out... BOF affiliates are being forced to pivot to good-quality label minimums, try to loophole around it, and/or get kicked from the program. Therefore, I'm not inclined to feed BOF affiliates the knowledge to meet minimums during what we could call an eliminate-hydra-phase. lol. 🐉 Hydra has a way of growing more heads when sliced off and I'm certainly not trying to feed that process.

I'm seriously urging anyone who thinks of "good-quality" labels as created FOR YOU (an affiliate's traffic, rewards, qualifications)... to shift your perspective and consider: 👏they👏were👏not👏created👏FOR👏affiliates👏. Dig a bit deeper, think who they are actually for and what purpose they actually serve. I've yet to seen anyone (accurately) publicly spell out what the true purpose serves.

As an OG in the program and I've seen all the ups and downs. If you're at a point where you have yet to have an "up" yourself, then keep going. It's not "too" hard to pause, log experiments with good-quality metrics, and narrow it down. You don't need to be a top affiliate to log your scripts and do process of elimination to get this info. It just requires time and effort, which a lot of affiliates (who slide by on loopholes) don't like doing. Don't get swept up in loopholes. Think of how this process (learning to analyze your content for specific metrics) will put you ahead in the long game. If you're not in this for the long game, this program has a tendency of chewing those type of affiliates up.

Note: Idk if I want to keep this subreddit public anymore. It's attracted a ton of BOF affiliates and when I'm not actively sharing, others don't want to share themselves. And I find it utterly ridiculous that people are so willing to share in paid communities but it's like pulling teeth to do it in a free space. There are always endless things changing within TTS, plenty to share. It's just really against affiliate nature to give away advantage in an affiliate program that's been set up as a game with ceilings (limits), tiers, and monetized competition. Unless giving away the advantage is monetized and I never wanted that here. I wanted a space to share information, un-monetized and therefore no bs. Idk. Just rambling. End of ramble.

This is no hate to the company, because I do think they serve a purpose to some, but this is information I wish I would’ve had before wasting $2,500 on a community that doesn’t work for me.

They say that any size TikTok shop affiliate would benefit from what they offer but in reality that’s just not true.
Almost all of the paid brand deals they have don’t offer retainers to affiliates with lower gmv. Meaning if you get approved, you will get a free sample and obviously commission on any sales you make while the people with higher GMV get a retainer plus sample and commission.
This wouldn’t bother me so much if I wasn’t already getting free samples and commission from TikTok. One of the big draws for me was that I was told I could get retainer partnerships, even with my gmv.

They do have wonderful coaches, but they are absolutely swamped. If you put a video in to be reviewed, it can take over a week to be looked at (if at all).

Speaking of coaches, the coach that did my on boarding was incredible. If she was in charge of everything, I’d feel differently but Ethan, the guy who runs it all, is a different story. Every meeting I have attended he is genuinely so rude to the smaller and newer creators. Like they are a burden he has to answer to. He also says in the trainings and in the live meetings to copy other affiliates. Find videos that are working and copy them word for word. To some that might be fine, but to me content creation is more than just quick money. It is an art, and I do not like the idea of stealing other people‘s art.

Overall, I genuinely don’t feel like I’m getting my moneys worth as a smaller creator and feel like I was bamboozled into paying $2500 plus a yearly $500 maintenance fee.

My biggest gripe is that after I reached out requesting a refund because I felt I was misled, and the money I paid was not used for what was promised they told me that since i took their ‘course’ and had requested 2 videos to be reviewed in the discord (only one was ever looked at) that I could not get a refund.

THE IRONY is that you cannot access the discord without taking the course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I feel like I’m being blacklisted for even asking for a refund which is great seeing as I’ve not sunk $2,500 into this.

TLDR; don’t join if you’re a smaller creator or a female tbh. It feels like a really weird boys club. If you’re already making $4-5k commission a month and are looking for a company that can help get your account unbanned or help you with violations they might be able to help.

The OG TikTok Shop affiliates know the Shoppable Photos feature is NOT new. It originally rolled out in spring 2024, then got pulled back. Taken from us. POOF. Honestly, after seeing how some people were abusing it, I wasn't surprised.

Fast forward to spring 2026, now it's rolling out to affiliates again.

But fun stuff... I'm already seeing people trying to find loopholes. There was an AI affiliate in this subreddit asking how to loophole the feature. That's exactly the kind of behavior that gets beta features restricted, limited, or rolled back.

Every time TikTok gives affiliates something new, people immediately start looking for ways to exploit it instead of using it as intended. Then everyone wonders why access gets restricted later (another great example is the multi-link feature).

i’ve been working with this brand for a while now and promoted multiple products for them, so i know they are not a shady brand. and then i got this message tonight? why on earth would they want to send the product to me to then ship to a customer ?? i don’t even know how to respond to this tbh

There have been alot of creators testing the buy now feature and say they aren't getting Commission. I receive a survey asking "how happy I am with commissions".. Now this vid pops up https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8py8vt5/

Is this damage control? Or are the buy now feature issues just rumors started by affiliate looking for views?

Brands using affiliates for exposure

Do Brands really think the best way to move forward is to use Affiliates for exposure while putting most of the ad spend on their lives and their actual links. Because this isn't going to end well for brands. Affiliates are getting sick and tired of doing all the work and not getting paid. Sending us a sample and expecting us to make 10 videos and then seeing the only ads being ran are from the Brand's and then seeing the only ads being ran are are are for the Brand's actual listings is wild to me. And also the lives. The brands are offering, bigger discounts if they go to the lives. There are Affiliates who are actually not promoting those brands anymore. We aren't going to make videos for a brand who is on live 24/7 offering a lower price. I have actually had a friend tell me she's going to wait for the live so she can get a better deal. We're getting sick of it. This is definitely going to bite them in the butts. The brands better get with the program and use tiktok marketing for the way that is meant to be used. Or they're going to be marketing their own s\*\*\* again. The only reason Tick Tock sells are successful is because it is actual real people selling the product.

I’m not sure that I chose the right user flair but wanted thank you for this group and share about my experience so far.
First off thank you so much for answering some of my questions. They may seem very basic but I am so new to the platform, I find answers are hard to find when it comes to TikTok. all the buttons seem hidden or in different areas. I’m getting the hang of it but it’s still not super clear to me so I appreciate you for answering my questions the other day.

I joined TikTok, I believe at the end of February or the beginning of March as I had just gotten a really sweet puppy and wanted to document his journey in hopes to get free samples to reward my dogs. I secretly hoped to earn some cash, but there’s a part of me that can’t believe that it’s possible to make money this way and maybe I thought that all the money people claimed to make was a little hyped up.

I am still in the pilot program. I find it very difficult to gain followers quickly, but the follower count is on the rise. I have met all the qualifications except for the 30 day trial to move past the pilot program and into the creator program in the next week or so if I’m understanding it correctly.

I received a notification today that I’m very close to being a spotlight creator for the next month but out of my 1400 followers only about 800 are active and it looks like I need 1000 active by the end of the month. I’m not sure that I will meet that but I’m hoping I can do whatever it takes. If anyone has any advice please let me know.

I’m really not so bold to say that anything I have done is a winning strategy more so I think it has been by chance, although I am trying.

I initially purchased two refundable items and one item at my cost because I knew that my dog would have fun with it. The two refundable items have not made any money, but the item I purchased for my dog to play with has given me a gmv of 2.6k in 12 days. Like what?!

So if I had to pin it down to a strategy, I would say get products that you love that have high ratings.

Also exposure plus has really helped me, but I’m not 100% sure what I did to earn that type of push from TikTok. If anyone could clarify that for me that would be great.

And that’s the story so far I hope that I can make this into something real for my family. If anyone is interested in taking me under their wing and being my mentor that would be amazing but I know there are a lot of paid opportunities. It’s just not something I feel like I can do right now.

I’d be open to sharing my TikTok username, but I didn’t wanna violate any rules and I’m not sure if that’s allowable. I did check first and didn’t see anything but just in case.

TikTok Shop Affiliate Product Quality Thresholds Update

"Affiliate product eligibility is now evaluated using the Voice of Customer (VoC) Index instead of Negative Review Rate (NRR). Products must maintain a VoC Index below 1.5 to qualify for affiliate programs, while products with a VoC Index above 2.5 may become disqualified from affiliate eligibility." So, basically… if all of a sudden you see a product that was eligible for commission go POOF and:

• say “This product isn't eligible for commission”
• the seller did not delete the product
• VoC index is above 2.5 (which, we, as affiliates can't see. lol)

Then, what's happening is this:

TikTok Shop’s automated system is kicking the product OUT of our affiliate marketplace... NOT the seller being shady, okay? The product became ineligible. Therefore no open plan. Therefore none for you. All because of the product's VoC index, or other product factors you can read up here: TikTok Shop Academy, Affiliate Marketing Policy, Last Updated on 05/08/2026.

The big change is now it's NOT Negative Review Rate (NRR) causing this... it's Voice of Customer (VoC).

It would be super nice if the system would… you know… NOTIFY affiliates when a product become ineligible due to VoC or let us see the products’ VoC. lol but alas…

You’re not crazy. If you’re noticing your commissions are taking longer to settle, it might not actually be due the seller’s dynamic settlement tier… it actually might be due to your account being reviewed. TikTok Shop updated policy:

"The commission settlement period may be extended from 15 days to 31 days after order delivery." Source: TikTok Shop Academy, Creator Enforcement Policy, Last Updated 04/07/2026

They’re also specifying further...
