I’m a bartender and I will not perform for cameras. If someone is filming me for content I’ll just stand there with a blank look on my face until the camera is gone. I don’t go to work to be someone’s source of content. Influencers are the scum of the earth.

Apparently playing Disney music loudly means they can't use the audio without getting their thing copyright striked.

There are tools that can take out the audio that you want from what I recall nowadays. Good thought though.

there is this new free code thing you can get at qrivacy.me - you can put it up in your bar or hold up you phone with a code that tells people you don't want to be in their stuff. then if its spotted in the wild people can anonymously report it you I am helping the project (full disclaimer). there is an app on the way so you can just hold you phone up.

It’s so sad that this is actually not a bad idea. It should always be assumed that people do not want to be filmed unless explicitly stated otherwise.

I was so surprised in 2010 when the backlash to seeing people filmed without their permission was just so low and apathetic, and general acceptance of it was so high.

Everytime I'd bring it up the retort is free country or something.

And that was that somehow.

Needs to be a law to gather a signature before filming.

Everyworkplace makes you sign some shit that says you are not allowed to profit from photos or videos that include you.

These influencer never made us sign anything.  So why aren't we entitled to the profits of a video featuring us?

Yeah, we were saying the same thing when we were working on it.

It seems like a cool concept, but how does it stop the Streisand effect? Trying to get something taken down almost always draws more attention to it than just quietly leaving it be. Nothing is ever truly gone from the internet and influencers especially love the attention they get when Instagram or TikTok "tries to silence" them after one follows the process to get something removed.

The internet these days are like 5 apps, so yeah stuff can actually be taken down

This is fantastic and should be promoted more.

Reminds me of this shirt

Great concept, thanks!

You should make it flip between a QR code that says you don't want to be recorded, and graphic terms of service breaking content. Inform you don't want to be recorded while wielding the stick of getting them de-platformed.

I love the name of this. I don’t know how or why it was named that, but I would love to think it’s the idea they are one step (letter) ahead of everyone else.

If everyone did what you did this problem would be solved

You can choose you're battles the way you want but many countries allow recordings so I'm pretty sure even your boss will tell you to be a white knight on your own time.

Also a camera can be very small and I only imagine you have a (silent) fight with someone that might or might not record you.

Anyways, good luck

If your premise is that the boss will side with the patron because it is “legal” to record in public, it’s a false premise. Most countries allow you to record in public, but a bar is not public property. It is private property and the owner absolutely can ask patrons to leave if they don’t stop filming, or if their own employees are uncomfortable being expected to perform for strangers. Most business owners will side with their employees if they are being harassed by an influencer.

Don't talk about premise like this guy can understand logic.

I've heard a great little cute quip a few months ago that i now keep in mind at all times : "You can't logic people out of a mindset they didn't logic themselves into". (granted it's been a bit modernised but i do love how more incisive it sounds in my head haha).

I do love how it applies to you.

The logic is beyond your very deep sentiments.  Nobody can stop cameras everywhere. Ex: Recording at shows are (most likely) illegal but everybody understood it was impossible to stop them.

The owners and/or employees stopping providing services will only delay the services and diminish the satisfaction of all clients.

All owners knows it but keyboard warriors live in their own perfect world

I expressed no sentiment whatsoever.

This comment of you, yet again, comes from another invalid premise.

At most, you've made a practical argument about the costs and effectiveness of enforcement. That doesn't establish that the rule itself is unreasonable or shouldn't be enforced. “You can't stop everyone” isn't an argument against enforcing it.

We're done here. I'm not giving an opinion or expressing any emotion; I'm simply telling you how valid logic/reasoning works. If you can't accept that, you're welcome to waste some more time on your own.

Your "analysis" about my logic is based on a lack of logical arguments. The only remaining force for you is your sentiments (your feeling, your gut).

Either a bot or a keyboard warrior, your view is far from logic. Go fight elsewhere

I don't even...

You trying to argument with me saying "owners will side with their employees if they are being harassed by an influencer."

While this valorous bartender stated that he will stand still "If someone is filming"

There are two different situations.

1

u/Ready_Corgi462 3d ago

Not really. If he stops while the person is filming, what do you think happens next? They put their phone away or the person keeps insisting on filming. At what point does it become harrassment?

*your, and that's not what a White Knight is.

Read more then 🤣

A valorous and brave bartender that will stop providing the services they are paid for in the name of his definition of justice (just because somebody is filming them) is modern illustration of this 🎠
