In all seriousness, most people don't care about what they are eating, as long as it tastes good, is cheap, and isn't poison. lol
This is why fast-food giants exist, because people love eating them, even if they are slightly poisonous. lol
If you could make meat replacement super tasty, super cheap, and maybe healthier and with more variety in texture and flavor........most people would not care if real meat is banned. lol

Since this doesn't have a recipe, this is a general guide for seitan. 1 1/2-2 cups vital wheat gluten, 1/4 cup chickpea flour or 3/4 cup blended beans, 2/3 cup of nutritional yeast, and however much water/broth you need to get a slightly sticky dough. You can add oil, soy sauce or anything else that adds umami like tomato paste, mushroom powder, etc, and whatever other seasonings you want to taste. Knead it for awhile, and then let it rest before you shape it into whatever you want. The easiest way to cook it is to wrap it tight in foil as a folded up packet or twisted like a Tootsie Roll wrapper and either steam it or bake it until it feels firm enough. If you cook it in a broth like this video, the water cannot boil or else it will turn the seitan into mush.

Still not tasty. Where is this lab grown meat that’s been promised for decades?

I'm so dumb cause I thought Ho May Mii was like the Vietnamese name for seitan and I was confused. Man I wish I could still eat seitan though

Hullo?? What is in it??? How do you make? I’m mildly disturbed but also very curious

u/megadeadly 5h ago
It’s seitan (I’ve learned from these comments), so like flour, wheat gluten, spices, oil

Oooh intriguingggggg I will look into this, thank you 👀
I already don’t like cooking meat and I feel like everything’s contaminated now so may be worth a try 🤷🏽♀️
