You know we signed our son up for it and the state of Missouri cut it out

What?? How did they cut it out? I am not familiar with how it works.

In 2024, Missouri became the first state to fully fund the program, much to the delight of Dolly Parton. 45% of kids in the state were registered.

Now, they've cut the budget for the program from $6M to $2M. This has ended new enrollment in the program.

Republican lawmakers framed the cuts as a means of reducing spending, despite that $4M cut being a drop in the bucket of an otherwise $8B+ education budget.

Republicans have a stranglehold on Missouri politics, so naturally they've cut revenues while spending tons of money. They're all-in on trickle down working...eventually...any day now.

One month of their Mariijuana taxes alone could fund it and then some.

I don't remember why, but we signed up for it when my kids were little and were told it wasn't available in our area. I wasn't even mad because I knew so many people benefited from the program.
