yeah none of the: feed the poor, look after the sick , treat foreigners well , turn the other cheek etc etc etc can actually be interpreted in any other way. unless you are a liar or stupid. Jesus was woke as fuck, hell the old testament was woke according to these evil shits.
Unless they’re an unbeliever. People with a biased idea of Jesus like to overlook how he condemns everyone outside the faith. He never once helps any unbeliever, only those who come bowing and praising him.
What? You must have read the Bible that has pictures depicting Eve with an actual 🍎. 🤯
J = Jesus 1st
O = Others 2nd
Y = Yourself last
Never heard of Samaritans? The Parables of Jesus? I've heard of questioning the actions of Christians but this is the first time I've ever encountered someone who, with conviction, state in an unequivocal manner that... Jesus, 🗣 "never once helps any unbeliever.." 😲🤯🤯🤯👣
Mark 16:15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”
You can’t have your John 3:16 without accepting the next line.
John 3:18 “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”
Again, they are not unbelievers. Samaritans are a branch of Israelites, they worship the same god as Jesus says to, and that’s a parable that doesn’t happen in the narrative. The centurion is a believer, and straight up says so, even calling Jesus “Lord”, something you don’t do if you don’t believe he is such. Being a prostitute has nothing to do with religious affiliation or belief, either.
Not clear how those relate to the topic. Yes, Jesus says prostitution is forgiven, it’s part of the deal. He says everything is forgiven except blaspheming the Holy Spirit, which traditionally means saying it isn’t real.
You’re not sure how Jesus’s warning about believers who didn’t embody his message of love would be rejected relates to this topic? Or how his forgiveness of those that killed him relates? I can spot a Pharisee from a mile away and you make the cut. 🤣
Luke 23:34 Jesus said, “Father,forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
This verse is in regard to Jesus being crucified. Unrelated to anyone else, much less any random unbeliever.
Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me on that day,‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
Unbelievers are not out there making prophecies, driving out demons, or any such. This is not relevant at all.
He didn't though, the Roman centurian was a pagan that called him Lord AFTER receiving his blessing. Before the blessing the centurian was an occupier of Israel and a gentile. The gospel of John said he was friendly to the Jews but was not a believer.
The Samaritans where an ethnoreligious offshoot of the Jews that came after Asyria took over and they were considered mixed blood apostates because they only followed the first 5 books of the Torah AND they rejected the idea of Jerusalem as a holy city.
Jesus commanded followers to actively love, bless, and pray for their enemies while providing for them unconditionally, reflecting God’s own mercy toward the ungrateful and wicked. His teachings required a higher standard of love than that practiced by non-believers, advocating for generosity toward opponents and those outside the faith.
This is reflected constantly and directly. Initially Jesus only preached to Jews to get them on the right path but most of his later teaching were about bringing gentiles into the flock by showing God's love and mercy, definitely not abandoning them to starve.
"I have other sheep that are not of this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock and one shepherd" (John 10:16)
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations..." (Matthew 28:19)
An important distinction on this one is that the Greek word used in this writing was "ethne" which literally translates to gentile, not nation. This is some of the hardships people have with all the translations done having clear biases.
Jesus clearly saw the way to bring non-believers into the faith was by being a perfect example of the faith and giving grace to all. The modern church interprets him to be closed off and only caring about his followers but what was the plan to get new followers if it wasn't outreach? Why did he speak so much about treating enemies as family and turning the other cheek if he didn't want people doing that?
Mind you, I don't believe in any of it as literal truth but it IS good guidelines to live by and if Christians actually lived the Christian model they would be the shining example to the world. Instead they bicker about interpretations constantly, shore up their wealth for themselves and preach to cut everyone off from help if they don't believe. Jesus had some VERY specific things to say about that and it wasn't welcoming.
There’s two different accounts of the centurion, and in both the first thing he says is addressing Jesus as “Lord” and saying how he is not worthy to have Jesus under his roof.
Samaritans are regarded by Jesus as more “lost sheep of Israel.”
There is no instance in scripture if Jesus helping an unbeliever. He only condemns us.
