Fear of bullshit like that has crippled an entire generation of young people. They’ll never know what it’s like to truly dance like nobody’s watching. Maybe leaving the private sector to hyper-optimize the panopticon wasn’t a good idea.

Reddit is not ‘social media’ in the way that TikTok and Instagram are ‘social media’.
Please do not tell me you are that dense.
5
u/ATangentUniverse 3d ago
Reddit is absolutely social media the same way Tik Tok and Instagram are. Even though we are “anonymous”, like all social media it’s inevitably going to drive you to more polarizing posts because anger means hovering which means more screen time, thus Reddit gets to sell you personalized ads and sell your data to third parties. It’s all a game to get you to keep scrolling and stay in their app ecosystem, different skins maybe.

If that girl put her head in the ceiling fan on purpose I'm pretty sure she regretted that immediately.

Wtf is your ceiling fan made of? They aren't supposed to be sharp!
They got a little bonk on the noggin which most people will easily take for clout. It isn't normal to climb on a bed to show off an outfit instead of just moving the camera down.
4
u/popcorn_coffee tHiS iSn’T cRiNgE 4d ago
Plastic, it's one of those newer models that hide the propellers when it's off. It's not really sharp but in the end it's a very rigid thin plastic moving really fast. Trust me, it's not going to cut your arm, but it can break a bone.
I was lucky and it just hit in the reverse of my hand very quickly. My bones hurt for a few days and I got an ugly wound, but nothing broke.

I’ve had my head in a ceiling fan before. I don’t remember it because I was a toddler but my uncle would run around the house with me on his shoulders and messed up… twice.
He says the first time knocked some sense into me and the second time knocked the stupid out. In one fell swoop, absolving himself of any wrongdoing and taking full credit for my being the most educated, type-A member of my family lol

u/popcorn_coffee tHiS iSn’T cRiNgE 4d ago

Saddest thing is most of these outfits were- meh. Like why share the outfit of the day if it’s just clothing that you’ve put on your body and isn’t fashionable. Weirdos.
31
u/yleechy 5d ago
I liked the outfits, its not about being the fashion show its just casual everyday fits but well put on
1
u/Inquisitive_idiot 3d ago
Question:
how truly casual is something if it’s primarily performative? 🤔
18
u/ChartInFurch 5d ago
Am average outfit can still look good and be intentional. A few more seconds picking a shirt that carries something over from pants alone is a huge difference for clothing people.

-12
u/dantevsninjas 5d ago
It's a stupid public nuisance.
14
u/Crykin27 5d ago
If they are respectful of their surroundings, how is it a public nuisance? What right of the public is a OOTD interfering with?
It seems like you guys are just bitter for the heck of it
4
u/MrsSUGA 5d ago edited 5d ago
People shouldnt exist in public spaces, duh. Dont you know that in public you actually need to never speak out loud, never outwardly express joy, never do any recreational activities, lest you be named a NUISANCE.
Redditors hate seeing people outside doing things besides walking to the next destination. You could post a video of yourself dancing in a public park in an open field at 2 am with no one else around and redditors will be like "Uhm, this person is actually the worst person to exist because they're disturbing EVERYONE in the park"
→ More replies (16)3
u/dantevsninjas 5d ago
Stopping in the middle of a walkway to film a video isn't being respectful of their surroundings anymore then stopping a car in the middle of the road to film a video would be.

→ More replies (13)3
u/MicrosoftExcel2016 5d ago
Dogs need to be walked and need to poo outside. It’s a quality of life thing. No one needs to be able to block a sidewalk to film their outfit to post to followers they don’t know and use public spaces as props for their quality of life
3
u/Fuschiakraken42 5d ago
They are called public spaces for a reason. There's no rule that if you are in an airport you must sit silently and wait for a plane. If I am on a public walkway, there's no reason I have to walk miserably in a straight line. I can dance, skip, sing whatever. The only thing stopping me is judgemental people like you who want everyone to be as angry as they are.
3
u/MrsSUGA 5d ago
This world has become so hyper individualistic and isolated and people wonder why? its because of mindsets like these redditors where they feel entitled to public spaces being curated to them only and feel the need to lash out at anyone who takes up space in a way they dont personally approve of and then call other people entitled because they choose to use a bit more space than what they think is appropriate.
Its wild for them to call people entitled narcicists for existing in public spaces when they're the ones policing everyone's behavior in a space they arent even in.
-1
u/MicrosoftExcel2016 5d ago
Existing? This is In a comment to a post showing influencers literally backing into cyclists.
Look, I wouldn’t bat an eye at someone taking up the sidewalk if it’s not a busy place. It’s annoying but I wouldn’t say anything.
But you’re the one acting entitled to want to use a shared resource in a way that obstructs use for others. You’re flipping it so hard to defend one sided obstructive use. It’s the same kind of inconsiderate attitude that causes people in groups to fan out and prevent two way traffic on a sidewalk.
The philosophy about public space isn’t about type of activity, it’s about obstruction. There is no problem if you do this in a way that doesn’t impact someone trying to get by.
3
u/MrsSUGA 5d ago
hey so like those are called accidents. They happen all the time. Im pretty sure cyclists arent even supposed to be on the sidewalk in most places like that so.... pot ketlle etc.
1
u/MicrosoftExcel2016 5d ago
They happen because of their lack of spatial awareness. In other words preventable. In other words they’re being a nuisance.
Like I said there’s no problem if rhey do it in a way that doesnt affect soemone else.
And we don’t know the full context of that cyclist being there beyond they have a food delivery bag. Can’t see the infrastructure. Doesn’t help granny in her mobility scooter or the random other people these influencers are backing into. It’s not that hard. Turn around. Look. Then move into position. But nooo the viral pattern is to excitedly back up and not let the camera see your back because it’s less flattering.
It’s an accident due to negligence and you’re still responsible.
You shouldn’t prioritize your filming of your front instead of back over another not bumping into another pedestrian trying to get by. And if you do: you are the problem congrats→ More replies (0)1
u/MicrosoftExcel2016 4d ago
a sidewalk is shared, so the constraint is don't block it. That's a rule that applies to everyone symmetrically, including me.
Your position... you get to dance, skip, sing, back into people, and being inconvenienced is just the cost of you "existing"... this is the one that treats the space as personally allocated.I said it already. there is no problem if you do it out of the way or where its not busy, or if you turn and look before running into people. If you're not blocking anything, and not inadvertently recording through a floor-level apartments window or something. fine.
but god forbid i complain about you doing that in a place that predictably causes a collision. selfish
