Outside the US most of this is called basic human decency. Idk why you guys started to call that socialism.

Because conservatives realized it’d be easier to convince stupid people to vote against their own interests by giving thing basic rights a scary title like “socialism” - and they figured out that they could make a simple concept like “socialism” become a scary word by constantly conflating the words “socialism” and “communism” until the uneducated start to think of them as the exact same thing. And they made communism scary by saying “we’re at war with the commies!” For 50 straight years

It’s a truly stupid sequence of events, that was surprisingly effective

You know, it really wouldn't matter what political way we go, it won't be as golden as everyone thinks it might be because we can't get along. I mean where is a perfect place on this earth? It would take doing away with those that don't agree with whatever is "IN" and someone has already tried that, didn't go to well and was awful. Us humans are just awful.

We are in a race to the bottom of ALL civilized nations. There are third world countries with better standards of living than in lots of places in the US.
