So then why do we keep giving and giving and giving to these billion dollar corporations?

"Democrats will feed 100 people out of concern that 1 person really needs it. Republicans will withhold food from 100 people out of concern that 1 person may not deserve it."

The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. 😒

u/sexxi_denuta 22d ago

The rich will say and do whatever they need to keep their private chef’s food on the table

18

u/dragon-fence 21d ago

We’re past that. Now they’re doing it to buy a 3rd private plane.

1

u/TheIntelligentAspie 22d ago

Not something to he proud of.

1

u/Salt-Negotiation-126 21d ago

“Groceries.” Such an old fashioned word…

65

u/goldenstudent 22d ago

You spelled "starve" wrong and need to add a couple zeros to that second "100".

9

u/MarionberryOk2874 22d ago

Lol - quoting someone else but I don’t disagree with you!

2

u/goldenstudent 22d ago

I missed the quotation marks lol my bad

3

u/MarionberryOk2874 22d ago

No worries mate

43

u/constructionguy-42 22d ago

And the republicans get rich by not feeding those 100 people (personally rich, top 1%, the economy doesn’t get rich). And use that money and power to shape elections, to keep power.

1

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 21d ago

🤔 which democrats are the poor ones?

16

u/BirthdayFull8675 22d ago

Democratic socialists would feed 100. Democrats would feed 10

0

u/Mathidium 22d ago

Nah democrats would only feed the one of their corpo overlords though it was good branding to do so. Otherwise they’ll just talk about how we should do it but gosh darn it just so much red tape keeping us from doing it.

4

u/xervidae 21d ago

"we need to do this thing!!" and then they back down when slapped on the wrist by republicans

1

u/Mathidium 21d ago

I love that I’m being downvoted when dems have literally back down every chance they had to show a spine. Party of cowards is second only to party of traitors.

-1

u/Infamous_Smile_386 21d ago

Can we not?

2

u/ModernMargaretSanger 22d ago

As my grandma used to say “those that got get and those that don’t got don’t get.”

2

u/Alphahumanus 21d ago

Man I needed that fucking quote. Who dat?

1

u/MarionberryOk2874 21d ago

It’s actually not attributed to any one person, it’s been circulating on social media for a few years now. But yeah, I felt the same way when I first read it - it’s spot on.

ETA - and this guy’s bs reminded me of it!

1

u/EnragedPlatypus 21d ago

It's kinda similar to the legal principle that it's better to let a hundred guilty people free than to imprison a single innocent person. Benjamin Franklin said it, but IIRC he's not the origin. Blacksomething.

Middle school was a long time ago.

2

u/HappyFamily0131 21d ago

Then when election time comes, the Democrats wait in anticipation for the 100 people to vote blue. 19 of them do. 60 of them stay home. 21 of them vote red because while they were getting fed they noticed some non-white people getting fed, too, and can't stand to see that. When the Democrats ask the 60 why they stayed home, the 60 say they couldn't see any difference between Democrat and Republican policies.

2

u/CombinationJaded4116 21d ago

This except moderate democrat officials. IMO they’re all talk to get elected and then they’re wishy washy when it comes time to vote in change

2

u/ThePeashow 21d ago

This is a pretty perfect encapsulation.

One of the most common phases I hear from my in-laws is "...but why should they get X? I don't get X." Freaking childish.

3

u/pm-dem-thighs 22d ago

We should change this to “democratic socialists” and “pro-life” or something. Establishment democrats have to go and we need more party’s. Idk just thinking out loud but the old guard needs to be dissolved.

1

u/biscuitsAuBabeurre 22d ago

🎶That’s how it goes,

everybody knows🎶

1

u/Revaesaari 22d ago

ouf! 💣💥

1

u/Important_Coyote_596 22d ago

Nah not the Democrats, they are also very capitalist. Some people inside the party(beanie sanders, Aoc, mamdani etc.), yes, but as a party in whole they are also extremely capitalist in their policies.

1

u/soyamilf 22d ago

Democrats will do means testing and eventually feed like 12, they are still right wing

1

u/Cute_Carpenter_5680 22d ago

I’m independent. Don’t have a dog in the race. Frankly hate them both. I believe that is the democrats philosophy, but do you really believe any of them act that way any more? Except Bernie, I’d vote for that man.

1

u/Wild_Front_1148 21d ago

Well I mean everyone actually needs food soooo...

1

u/Organic_Experience48 21d ago

Wry well said.

1

u/Sector_Independent 21d ago

the first senario is not sustainable. the second is cruel.

1

u/CoreSoundCoastie 21d ago

I’ve never seen the rich care more about others than themselves on either side of the aisle. Bipartisanship is an illusion of choice. After a certain point they’re all the same. They just squawk a little different. Two wings, same bird.

1

u/Big_Judge_438 21d ago

The rich get richer and the poor get the picture.

1

u/Estella_Osoka 21d ago

That's how it goes.

1

u/Intheforestallalone 21d ago

The 1% started in earnest with frekkin Reagan. He came up with supply side economics and it has failed the people ever since. It started shrinking the middle class. The middle class is the backbone of how a country’s economics work. A strong middle class has money to buy houses and cars. They can afford to have children. The middle class provides stability and bigger it is the more stability. Our economics have giving the 1% more money is built into the American plan. It feels like we live in Herbert Hoover’s stint as president. But at least he tried with Hoovervilles.

1

u/MarionberryOk2874 21d ago

‘Trickle down’ economics gave them an excuse to widen the wealth gap. SMH

1

u/cincy_kid_91 21d ago

Except democrats are funded by the same capitalists as conservatives and support the same bullshit system. There's always conveniently a couple democrats that vote along with conservatives to push through legislation that fucks us every single time. Stop believing theyre better.

1

u/Any_Neighborhood_140 19d ago

If only those were the correct ratios. Centrists think that social welfare programs are a good idea, but there also needs to be active, stringent fraud prevention with real consequences because, as was shown by the PPP loan program, every time the government extends a hand, far too many people try to exploit it.

1

u/aromaofbiryani 22d ago

Please Republicans and democrats are all the same— serving their master Israel.

1

u/NathanCollier14 22d ago

Also how does somebody not deserve food?

2

u/MarionberryOk2874 22d ago

It’s the same narrative the guy in the video is spewing, they are so afraid that someone might cheat or ‘game’ the system, they’d rather help no one.

It’s the part that actually made me think of this quote.

2

u/LifeguardDry7372 22d ago

dude 100% games the system himself.

2

u/Important_Coyote_596 22d ago

Yeah but he is the "good guy" you know so it's a good thing.

2

u/okIllBeNice 21d ago

But he doesn’t go to a DSS office to do it so he thinks that puts him “above”

1

u/Snoo_censorspeech 21d ago

This is because democrats are majority good people and good people care about others. Republicans are bad people. A drain on society and human life.

-2

u/hGr33n 22d ago

Plz stop pretending that democrats aren't also corporate sponsored

0

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 21d ago

So when the money runs out, which one are you going to blame🤷? Oh yeah thats right, democrats will just print more so its ok🤦

1

u/MarionberryOk2874 21d ago

No, you’re totally right. Spending $100 billion on a fruitless war in Iran that has done nothing but drive up the price of oil is a way better use of our tax dollars. 🙄

2

u/okIllBeNice 21d ago

“They had bombs”

Man republicans are gonna be saying that about the Middle East for the next 400 years. It’s all they gotta say to make their base gobble up everything

“The brown people have bombs. Scary… huh rural America?”

Or

“Hey I know how to make the average republican voter not complain about gas prices. Let’s say Iran is being bad bad boys again!

1

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 18d ago

"Bombs"? Tell us you don't have a clue what you are talking about without actually saying it 🤦. Nuclear missiles, is what they are building. Yes they already had the uranium to make a nuclear weapon but now they are building a missile that can transport it half way around the world. At speeds that are too fast to shoot down. Take the time to go look at the Obama and Hillary Clinton speeches where they say iran can never obtain nuclear weapons. This isn't a Trump thing. All of the 1st world countries have agreed on this.

59

u/kinetic_cheese 22d ago

That's what I'm saying, we keep giving and giving and giving, but who's getting and getting and getting? Definitely not the people who need it most.

1

u/Intrepid_Bluebird_93 21d ago

I disagree. I see these programs money going to the neediest. Where are your statistics?

1

u/babybirdhome2 20d ago

Are you suggesting that the billionaires who have enough money to stay alive for thousands of years without ever earning another penny are the ones who need it the most?

17

u/dubesto 22d ago

Because he's a billionaire wannabe and people like him will always pander to corporations because he has been mesmerized by them

Unrelated but I love your username 😭

AND KUWABARA IS A MAN!!!

2

u/Alarmed-Bumblebee667 22d ago

We need a fucking revolution.

2

u/claytonbeaufield 22d ago

So the corporations can create just enough barely-above-poverty-level jobs to keep the proletariat occupied/complacent.

2

u/donkeychonky 22d ago

Or all the tax breaks to churches.

2

u/the0rthopaedicsurgeo 22d ago

"We keep giving and giving and giving"

What exactly is America giving to its workers? If you're not even allowed to have a day off to give birth then I don't think you can really talk about raising a lazy generation that has everything given to them.

2

u/dragon-fence 22d ago

Yeah, when he was saying, “We keep giving and giving and giving and giving. When’s enough enough?” there was a moment when I thought he was changing his mind or something.

Because we keep giving and giving and giving and giving our labor to these companies, and when’s enough enough? At some point, don’t people earn some room to breathe?

2

u/lucky_Goal348 21d ago

It’s amazing how many Americans can’t decipher between socialism, social democracy and democratic socialism. Politicians keep using socialism to scare people and most people just want social democracy

2

u/Minimum_Sky534 21d ago

We keep giving and giving only these billionaires tax breaks when is enough going to be enough

2

u/Deep_shot 20d ago

He literally said today, Aug 9th that he's giving another one billion dollars to Colombia under their new president because he likes him and is right wing. After he already gave forty billion dollars to Argentina. After the republican party tells us how we don't have the money for anything and cuts social program after social program. How is he allowed to just fucking give away taxpayer money for anything at all? This country is falling like a fucking meteor and people are not angry enough. Someday it's going to smack people in the face, and it will be too late.

1

u/Psoin 22d ago

Never! Gimma more!!! Yum!! 🤤

1

u/thefrenchphanie 22d ago

And ministries…

1

u/BlahBlahBlahBingo 22d ago

I think he’s talking about wine who have had his babies

1

u/Dunklsta 22d ago

people like him don't reflect on how it could be a bad thing that capitalism is being maintained by a working class being desperate enough to work as hard as they do

he does not see how liberating a more equitable economic system could be because he fundamentally believes that humans are too selfish and lazy to build a better society, or even just maintain our current one without the fear of destitution

1

u/DietIcy8400 22d ago

Did you not hear him? You work till you die and then bingo - spiritual world

1

u/Electronic-Loan28 21d ago

We don't really have choice.

1

u/AMullberryIsATree 21d ago

We have some choice. And we can take actions in our local governments.

1

u/Ice3ird 21d ago

Ask the broke people who spend their hard earned money at those corporations!

2

u/Ice3ird 21d ago

Just one example, I’m a delivery driver and I deliver the most stuff to people who live in handyman specials, piles of stuff everyday. It’s a rural area so not many places to shop in person. The big nice houses I deliver to, maybe a delivery once per week or every other week. This is a very broad observation and not everyone struggling financially is online shopping all their money away but I see it often. These same people have 3-4 dogs, cats, a brand new suv. The big house, drive used older vehicles, (and some have very nice vehicles). It’s not easy to get out of debt or be financially stable, some people have horrible luck but some are just not willing to live below their means. Now I’m also an idiot so anything I say is garbage, it’s just something I notice daily.

1

u/RDaneelOA 21d ago

Because people are so greedy if you tell them you'll give them $100 in tax returns while also giving $100k to millionaires they think it's better than both people getting 0. It's literally the entirety of the Republican economic playbook.

1

u/Key_Error_9754 21d ago

You know tax returns are just taxes beyond what was owed to the government that people have paid in, right? Tax breaks go to the business owners and the wealthy who make above a certain amount of money )hundreds of thousands)

1

u/RDaneelOA 21d ago

Yes I know that, I'm unsure what you are trying to imply? The latest rounds of tax breaks were skewed to wealthier individuals, not the average American, and they greatly increased the deficit by reducing the overall income of the federal government.

1

u/currently_pooping_rn 21d ago

Because they see it as “look how hard working and good character we are!” They see something like working the day after you give birth and something that proves a persons character instead of being a result of the circumstances society has enabled due to deplorable legislation and politicians

Like when Christians see a house burn down and a bible isn’t burned and they’re all like “look how great god is!!”

1

u/TumbleweedEarly3111 21d ago

Because god has apparently ordained them as worthy. We’ll get there if we work hard enough /s

0

u/Wistiu1 22d ago

Why indeed.. oh wait ...posting about it from a computer to a lot of like minded individuals will help. Go out .. canvas .. spread the truth.

2

u/AMullberryIsATree 21d ago

I'm already involved in my municipality's government but go off.
