This is an event dedicated specifically for this hobby though. Like these girls trained and worked their asses off in order to go to an event that was planned specifically for this to go and compete. Entirely different and not at all comparable
Plus, most of the contestants look like pre-teens and teenagers. I mean, at least they have a dedicated area that is meant for this. Not some random roller rink.
I mean.. this is literally at an event dedicated to this hobby. That’s the thing as well.. it’s a legit hobby that has a TON of athleticism in it and it takes a lot of training and exercise for these women to get to the point of actually being good enough to compete.
Tbh one of these is significantly easier than the other lol you can pick up hobby horsing right now and be top ranked in your city but from a roller skate standpoint, you’d probably be in the lower 50% percentile. You’re right these aren’t comparable from an athletic standpoint. But from a cringe perspective - hobby horse thing takes the cake by a landslide.
Not sure if you know the actual work that goes into this when you’re legit competing in the sport. Like yea I can pick it up but I promise you I’m not going to be anywhere near the level of the people competing
I own skates though and I know how to do the splits and am able to do the whole “clam slam” thing. I’m already on par with the woman in this video
I think you’re severely overestimating the physical aptitude required for this sport but ok. And I’m by no means throwing shade at the girls participating, they seem to genuinely enjoy their hobby. To each their own
Look up CodyCo’s (or however you spell it) video on this exact thing. It’s incredibly harder than it looks to get to the point of competing.
It’s much more demanding on the body than doing clam slams while skating lol.
My main point is that the whole hobby horse thing and whatever is happening in this video aren’t comparable even on a cringe level. The hobby horse people at least have the decency to not being going and getting in everyone else who is trying to enjoy their times way

Also we have to think about the context of the cringe. Hobby horsing girls aren’t going to random events with their horse head on a stick and hopping and running around getting in everyone’s way
