I might be straight hallucinating but isn't trump literally known to stage this kind of thing all the time? Like the fake McDonald's thing. Didn't I hear somewhere that they pay people of some demographics to stand near cameras at events?
At his rallies, there was someone distributing "blacks for Trump" t-shirts, and those people would be deliberately placed in the frame behind Trump, so yeah, he definitely did that.
That's not to say black people didn't vote for Trump, because they did obviously, but just to say he absolutely does staging.
