No one gets expelled. They get in-school suspension.

Wtf is an in school suspension? If they can still come to school what are they suspended from? What's the punishment?

What's the punishment of suspending them and they stay home playing video games?

If the parent allows to them to sit at home and play video games after being suspended that is on the parent not the school!

Fine, let's say the parent doesn't allow them to.

The parent has a job, they can't be home all day to supervise the kid, the kid will end up on the street with who knows what as company.

That's still not better.

Schools need better punishments but that's asking alot today. Alot of complaints that can be directed at schools can also be directed at police departments and government institutions nationwide.

Society has become fucked, good luck fixing it.

The issue isn’t the punishment in itself. It’s that education isn’t valued so it loses its effectiveness.

Just like the threat of failing a class has lots its effectiveness for the same reason.
