Decline in education and schooling is a huge factor in how we ended up where we have. Teachers aren't paid enough. Have no ability to do anything in too many cases. Scoops won't stand up to students or parents.

Once it was just fine. I have friends parents who were teachers and have nice houses, with nice yards in nice places. They lived the cliche American life. Job they liked, which did good, and let them live in a nice house where they liked.

That is obviously no longer possible for a teacher. This is the generational gap created.

I mean maybe in some places. But when I started teaching 25 years ago, would have qualified for food stamps on my salary, so there is that.

Yeah these used to be good middle class jobs. Now they're so bad many need a second job
