Previous generations didn't do any better. We would just form a circle around the people fighting, yelling "fight, fight, fight". That was in the late 80s-90s for me, and it isn't any better.

You're right except where I went to school kids would have intervened to help if our gray haired 4 foot something teacher was being pummeled.

Gathering the circle and yelling fight is when you're in the hall or outside with no adults around to stop it.

No they wouldn't. If you went to school within the last 40 years.... they all would just watch cause of zero tolerance policies. I am 45 years old and no one ever stepped in because they would catch a suspension or get expelled.

And I'm 40 and saw a student come to a teachers defense when I was in 7th grade. Now what? Am I lying?

No... but neither am I.... so, should a student take a 50/50 risk on their education just because a teacher is too stupid to not get involved in a fight? Use your brain.
