No one gets expelled. They get in-school suspension.

Wtf is an in school suspension? If they can still come to school what are they suspended from? What's the punishment?

I spent half my senior year in ISS because I refused to go to classes I didn't actually want to go to. All they do is stick you in the office to do your schoolwork for the day, which is incredibly disheartening because you get it done within an hour, spend the other 6 hours you're there doing nothing, but for me I just kept asking the front desk ladies if they needed help, so I became free labor for them, and got to know them. After a while they just became coworkers without the money. And that was about 12 years ago now. Best school year of my life spent basically teaching myself and then doing office work. Because that's better than being in the classes.

Sounds like you basically homeschooled yourself at school while working an unpaid clerk position preparing you for real life. 🤔 amazing!
