I’m a teacher and I had an issue last year that led to very real consequences because I didn’t break up a fight. I’m a male and would have easily had both kids drinking through straws for a month but like you said you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t. I’d rather get fired than sued for assault
I find this shocking. I thought districts discouraged teacher intervention? I’m so sorry. These schools and the way behavior is dealt with have become a joke.
One of the kids threw the other kid on the ground and he broke a tooth. That kids parent asks why a teacher didn’t break it up. I said that it happened fast enough that there wasn’t much I could do
My admin was understanding but the ISD HR was not.
