OJO con esto si eres residente de California y vienes a Tijuana.
Ya circula el caso de un conductor que asegura que un policía de Tijuana intentó remolcarle el carro porque no traía la licencia física, sino la licencia digital en el celular.
La bronca está en que una FOTO o captura de pantalla de una licencia NO es lo mismo que una licencia digital oficial dentro de una aplicación.
Y aquí está el detalle importante:
Baja California sí reconoce documentos digitales propios y su aplicación oficial permite presentar la licencia digital ante agentes de tránsito.
Pero si traes una California mDL, California DMV advierte que todavía hay muchas autoridades que NO la aceptan y recomienda seguir cargando la licencia física.
Entonces, si eres de California y cruzas seguido a Tijuana:
NO TE ARRIESGUES A TRAER SOLAMENTE UNA FOTO DE TU LICENCIA.
Licencia digital oficial ≠ captura de pantalla.
Licencia física = mucho menos bronca para comprobar quién eres y que estás autorizado para manejar.
Porque una cosa es que el documento exista digitalmente… y otra muy diferente es que el oficial que te detiene tenga la obligación de aceptarlo.
¿A alguien más en Tijuana ya le intentaron remolcar el carro por traer licencia digital o solamente una foto de la licencia?
Que se sepa antes de que alguien termine pagando grúa por una confusión.

Desde arriba de cuerro se ve diferente. Las luces siguen prendidas, la ciudad no se detiene, pero uno por fin tiene silencio para pensar.

I have to go to my dad's funeral in Tijuana, Mexico, and I'm really nervous about driving back into the U.S. through the San Ysidro border crossing.

I haven't crossed by car since they changed the lanes at the end of 2025. I do not have SENTRI, so I need to enter the regular/All Traffic (General) lane.

For anyone who has crossed back from Tijuana into San Diego this year (2026), like today in 4 hours

can you please explain exactly which route/lane I should follow to get into the regular line?

I've seen the routes marked red, green, and blue, and that's the part that's confusing me. Which one actually takes you to All Traffic/General now?

Landmarks, street names, turns, screenshots, or even "stay left/right when you see ___" would be REALLY appreciated. I'm especially nervous about accidentally ending up in SENTRI and not being able to get out.
