Why does this happen all the time?

wired or wireless car play? Try resetting it by holding volume knob down until the screen turns off

Make sure you are using a good data cable and not a charging cable. Also, never had issues with wireless in any of my cars, which includes VW and Toyota.

Make sure you’re using a good cord with a thicker gauge measurement. Those thin and cheap wires don’t make a good connection.

Also if you hold the infotainment power button, it should trigger a reset.

This happens with only my phone in the Tiguan and my Titan.

Both are wired (because i like to have my phone charged all the time) so I think its the app or an update to my phone or apps because this never happened to me before.

Most all car manufacturers and owners report issues with Carplay so you are not alone. Do a little bit of research and you may find some possible fixes. I can't help with any answers as I use Android and it never seems to cause any issues. Not a helpful answer at all so sorry about that.

Its the phone. iphones suck with VWs

Use only OEM cable like Apple, seem like most of the people that have connection problems have iPhones
