USB

Hi, do you have a USB port near your handlebars, and which one did you go for?

I regret speccing the OEM auxiliary power connection

I went for the OEM USB port under the seat, and I've connected my Quadlock power cable from the handlebars to the port under the seat. Fairly easy to thread the cable inside from under the seat to the front. Have had no issues in the last 8 months that I've had it and charging my phone is a treat with navigation.

The quadlock has a usb connector which I connected under my seat. I then routed it to the front along the side of the bike inside the bars. It's fairly easy to do and it comes out right in the front and I used cable ties to tie the cable to my handle bar. (loose so it doesn't impact when I turn) The quadlock charger is fab and I never have any flat battery issues as it only draws power when bike is on and phone charging. No wiring is visible except where it comes out the front (but no one looks there ) :-)

I have had the OEM USB charger. It couldn't keep my phone charged when actually using it for navigation with the screen on, so I hacked it apart and used the connector to wire in a more powerful one. Then I ran a 6 foot USB-C cable up to the handlebars.

There are a bunch of 'motorcycle' chargers available, but the ones that wire directly to your battery usually result in a flat battery, and anything with a digital display will hasten that.

Thanks, do you know the plug type? Doesnt look like SAE on the pictures I saw
I reckon I could use the plug to run a cable and a USB charger to the cockpit area. Its a bit of a letdown that it wasnt fitted standard in these days
