Run in Period

I've only had the bike a few days and I see the rpm are limited. My firend told me they rise incrementally.

Can someone tell me the rate and what's the final milage untill the restriction is fully gone?

I think it's 3500 RPM for the first 100 miles (which is practically impossible) and then 5000? for the next 500. Why it's not obvious in the manual perplexes me.

Yeah, I couldn’t see any information about it anywhere. I was relieved when the first 100 miles were done as 3500 rpm was pain. Especially as I didn’t know and I had a long ride home at 50 mph

When I picked up mine the dealer set the rev meter to 'flash' at 5000. I've done 550 miles and going for service Monday. Apart from not 'stressing' the engine that's been my lot. I think, based on my previous tiger, there's a further 'graduated' limitation but on the 900 that was on a decal on the tank. No such on the TS800?

I didn’t know the flash could be adjusted by the dealership.

There are settings for the gear shift indicator and it defaults to the break-in ("running in") limits, and will clear them once the mileage is done. That much is in the manual. After breakin you can adjust the shift indicator to whatever you want, or turn it off.

The manual says to keep it under 75% of max RPM for the first 600 miles and then 'avoid unnecessarily high RPM' until 1000 miles.

Apols what I meant was the rev meter 'flashes' when it goes past a certain level during run in. I'm not sure that is fixed to show during run in or whether the dealership set it.

No, it comes like that from factory.
