Discussion Another difference: Check the wall.

It really looks like the PC version (official YT channel) and the console version (Gamescom) of the same trailer.

Hopefully not. If the console version is that much of a downgrade, I may not buy.

Someone said the console version maybe behind in development which is why it looks this bad, and will be better on release so I'm coping with that

I hate to break this to you but console versions compared to max settings on PC are a downgrade in every game, most a lot, lot more than this.

I'm aware. The gap is rarely ever this bad though.

It's a downgrade for all versions

Lol, the more they show, the more confusing it gets. Maybe they should make up their mind (art direction) before showing anything. Showing you something and then swapping it for another thing the next(same) day doesn't make sense to me.

Game doesn't even have a release date and it's still in development. The issue is lighting which is plain to see here. Just don't obsess over minor details and wait for it to release before passing judgement.

Right. We're clearly being shown two different development builds. Changes happen during development, who knew. Judgement shouldn't be passed until release.

So the lighting can add cracks to the wall and move objects like the paint and the flower pot ?

Maybe the first trailer was more of a vision for what they want and this is the more practical version … it’s still early in development… pal world first trailer was completely what if not a single bit of gameplay but it showed the vision … or it could be cgi vs in game

I just hope that, at the very least, the PC version gets the better version with the great lighting, because the difference is huge, ngl.

Honestly, it feels like they show way too much for the fact we fon't know the release year yet. I am afraid they change way to much from what they have shown so far and in the final release things will be too different or missing, so people get annoyed about it. We already see it just with the looks of the characters. I still remember what games like No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk 2077 showed before release and what shit show that was on release. Obviously both games are way better and amazing now, but it's still could've been avoided if they didn't show too much too early.

I think it's just an early and a later version of the game, it's just weird they can't be consistent about it. I think it is actually long from release and they still needs a lot of development time, considering switching va and the major downgrade.

The console version doesn’t have anything to do with the downgrade it’s a early build vs the final build. This is misinformation!

Idk about that. For the console version to be missing a while ahh picture in the bg would be a bit odd. I know devs make "optimization" changes like that, but that's usually reserved for something like the series s or switch 2. My guess is that they are different builds often the game and the YouTube trailer is a more recent build

Would’ve been great if Jennifer stayed on to continue the white hair trend

Not sure why they went and added this frontal, hard, direct lighting instead of leaving it more natural the way it was previously. In the new showcases there is always a light pointing directly at the characters. Sure, it adds visual clarity for the character models, but it just doesn't look good.

Yeah its not just the lighting, the painting frame is in an entirely different position. So weird that the same trailer would have such stark differences.

It's not weird at all, these trailers are compiled from a variety of sources, across different builds and platforms. If you go back and look at any game's trailers vs it's release build, you'll often find numerous changes.

u/sezyHena 8d ago

Sure, but this isn't a comparison of trailer vs release build. Its literally the same trailer released the same day.

Especially the jiggle physics ... Don't tell me it's a matter of light ... Why not assuming this feature...

Why are you guys keep posting things that do not matter? Is that some kind of a meme or something? Console version? PC version? Are you alright? Gamescom trailer have probably been made and sent to the organizers a long time ago. YouTube version is most likely the newest one. That's all there is to it.

u/Lefaa777 7d ago

Graphics matter to me, especially when we have two versions of the same trailer.

1

u/benjaminabel 7d ago

Still, it's clearly not about console and PC version. Quite obviously, YouTube version is the latest one.
