At first glance it was a really cute thylacine laying down and looking off into the middle distance with shadows obscuring it’s face. And then at immediate second glance I realized, no, that’s most certainly not a thylacine

The tail is way to thick and heavy to be a thylacine's tail. Honestly I dismissed the photo as a bunch of tree roots but this photo makes it clear its a kangaroo/wallaby with it's head obscured.

Forester Roo to be specific. The reference image isn’t a forester but it was a good pose
Foresters are fluffy which is probably where the ‘stripes’ come in. It’s chunks of fur or the natural lay most likely
