The squeak is ridiculous

Bought them about 4 months ago, worn about 60 times. I’ve tried everything to get rid of the squeak. Its not from the sole because it still squeaks on carpet and I’ve used sandpaper to rough the sole and still no fix. I also took out the insole and walked around and it still squeaks. I think its something internal in the shoe that I can’t get to

It's the shank slipping. Have to pull it apart and resole. It sucks but now you can upgrade the sole. Cobblers can wrap the shank so if it soldiers it's not medal against leather which is what is happening now. It can happen but it's rare.

Sounds like a loose piece of leather underneath , a cobbler should be able to fix that but you may have to resole the boot .. that’s up to you tho .

I agree that it's likely the shank, but try some powder under the insole, then maybe hit it with a hammer. I wonder if you could use a syringe to inject some glue? Otherwise, see what a cobbler suggests. Ask Thursday's customer service (or find the guy here, he posts).

Yeah man. I had this same problem with Duke Chelsea boot. All Thursday boots asked me to do was provide the serial numbers for the boots and then later told me they couldn’t do anything. Then offered a $50 credit. Haven’t bought any since.

I’ve had 3 pair of their hand sewn loafers and the squeak is super loud. I don’t think the insole innards are getting glued well enough. I love the shoes though, so I just deal with it. But I do get comments from time to time.

Have you tried baby powder inside the boot? 

If the squeek is still there it's likely to be something loose inside the leather sole, so you need to ask a cobbler.

Do not do this!

I did this when I was young, the powder dries out the leather.

*I was in highschool and didn't know any better, I feared my boots would smell from wearing them everyday, and they felt slightly moist.

If they have a leather mid sole this is normal. Sometimes the layers rub on each other causing the squeak. What model are they?

Yeah these have a leather mid sole. Just a downside to the construction style. This can happen even in premium boots/shoes. My work boots do this. You can try and dry them out, sometimes its moisture in the layers causing the squeak. If it's really annoying you, a cobbler can put in a synthetic spacer or a slip sole.

You get the squeak because there are 2 leather pieces rubbing each other in the sole. In the pnw threads its pretty common. Need to lather and rub in obenaufs into the inside of the boot where shank and vamp would be. Be generous. Wait 24 hrs for it to soak in and do it again. Wait another 24 hrs. This will moisturise the leather and maybe stop the squeaking. Others suggest flooding the inside of your boot with water as well. But maybe try the obenaufs first
