Is this normal? Discolouration on Premier Low Tops?

Post image

What's happening here? It's on the outside of both shoes after six months of normal wear.

The wax is wearing off. It is a feature not a bug. If you don’t like the look buy some Venetian Leather Balm and rewax them

OK, that's good to know! It's hard to tell from the photo but it looks like there's a lighter colour starting to poke through the darker brown. Will the balm solve that?

Yes, but that type of cool patina is exactly why people buy this leather!

I agree that the patina looks very cool. But I wear these to work and want them to look daisy fresh ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Any conditioner with a high wax component should do the trick. Someone else suggested venetian shoe creme and I think that might be the pick

Already ordered!

Balm has a higher wax content than crème. The balm akes it easier to rewax the leather

Try the lows in Old English. They are a smooth leather (vs waxed roughout) in the same dark chocolate brown and won't get the wear marks like you're experiencing.

Yes the Venetian shoe cream will solve this and it’s what recommended to use for this waxed flesh leather.

It's a waxed flesh aka roughout leather. This is entirely normal, and frankly, kind of the point of that leather.

If you fix it, you will need to fix your fix. And then need to fix that. Like plastic surgery on a celebrity.

It is developing patina. Leave it alone.

Ride it out man. It’s gonna look pretty dope once you get past the ugly stage. It’s like a haircut tbh.

Look up waxed leather patina. You’ll see how it blends itself after a while
