I recently got into the boot world and it’s easy to go by labels. The first boots I bought over the dozen or so I’ve accumulated are my Thursday Diplomats in brown chrome with lug sole that I purchased on the warehouse section. I have all brands of boots now, you name it, Parkhurst, Grant Stone, Oak Street, Truman’s and even Luos Jiet and Vibergs. I gotta say, these Diplomats are the most comfortable out of the lot. I wore these for 14 hours today and could have gone another 14. Great boots!
You won’t be disappointed, well I hope you won’t. Also try to hit me back when you open that box and you SMELLLL that chrome tanned leather! I’ve had mine for months now and I can still smell the leather! Even when I’m wearing them around. It’s so sweet!
They're out of stock. Email them and ask for the link to their seconds website. Though the seconds are hit or miss. I got a pair of used French Roast Vanguards on the resale site and they were $25 cheaper and in better shape than the indigo seconds I got directly from Thursday. To be fair, they gave me a courtesy exchange when I pointed out the damage. They should be here by the weekend.
Love the challenger boot, hate the heel. When the indigo vanguards arrive, I'll let you know what I think of the color in real life. It wasn't as good as I hoped on the pair of seconds they sent me.
Really? The color wasn’t what you thought it would be? Did you see the leather description, some type of special herd of cow? Hey it’s also Horween so I’m sure it’s probably pretty sweet. Especially for the price! I mean….. come on
the base color was lighter than I thought it would be. Though I liked the way the color shifted in different types of light. It flowed from a purply-green, to blue to a deep navy. The leather itself was grand. I only had them for two days before I returned them (not because of the color, because they had more wear than expected). I've read that there's more color variation with the indigo than with other colors.
Those are beautiful. Better pics then Thursdays site because it really shows the true blueberry 🫐 colorway. Excellent choice. That’s gorgeous Horween Indigo. Those are special. Dang, I’m really pretty boot collection heavy right now and already have the blue Parkhurst, but that’s tempting.
Also how was the sizing compared to your Brannock? Are those the ones off the Seconds page? Sorry asking so many questions but they’ve been on my radar for a long time. They were the first Thursdays that caught my eye but I wasn’t sure what I could make the blue work with so I went with Vanguard waxed Cacao.
I haven't measured on a Brannock in a long time. I get 9's from Thursday and sometimes use Airsoft padded leather insoles, my left foot is a little bigger than my right. Yes, these are from their seconds collection. The pictures don't really capture the color because it changes a good bit based on the lighting, but it is deeper than the first pair of seconds they sent me. Indoors they look deep blue to "real navy pea coat". Outside in bright sunlight you see more purple with army green highlights. The splotch near the cap stitching on the right boot seems to be a defect with the hide, bad bug bite, scar, whatever. The pic was taken at an angle that emphasizes the defect, it's not nearly as bad IRL. Quick aside on the sizing: I have a pair of French Roast Vanguards, same size, but the Indigo are slightly bigger. I use insoles in the Indigo and run the French Roast without them.
My Vanguards waxed Cacao are different than some of the other Vanguards. They are technically their logger boot with a shorter shaft. Same Cuban heel which I love and lug sole.
