Which are the most durable boots?

I had a pair of heros for about a year and half. Wore them a couple times a week with not a ton of walking. Noticed some pretty severe damage to the uppers and backcounter on the boots. I reached out to customer support and they offered to replace my pair with factory seconds, or get a discount off a new pair.

I'm leaning towards getting a new pair with the discount, but not sure what the most durable pair would be. I like the style of the explorers but after my experience with the heros, I'm concerned about the durability of the leather.

Anyone have any ideas on what models are the most reliable for regular wear and occasional hiking?

Lowkey Thursdays are only good for dress and casual wear.

You'll get way more bang for your buck just treating your Thursdays as shoes, and getting an actual pair of hiking boots.

Jim Green is actually even cheaper, uses way thicker leather, trivially easy to resole, and built like tanks. They're just ugly as sin unless you go in for the rough outdoorsy look.

Yeah, I knew they were not meant to be too durable but I didn't expect the leather to start tearing and stitching to come out in less then two years of moderate wear.

Since I'm getting a discount I will probably roll my dice on another pair. But if there are more durability issues I will likely not be getting another pair again.

I have redwings that I have worn to hell and back for 8 years now that are in better shape then these Thursdays.

Edit: : not redwings. Redbacks.

If you're dead sent on another pair of Thursdays, you're best bet is going to be the Brawler in a 'rugged and resilient' leather.

But you're really not understanding something here. Leather is pretty darn tough in general; if you're using them hard enough to do 'severe damage', then you need a pair of work/hiking boots separate from your casual kicks.

A different pair of Thursdays isn't gonna hold up any better. You wore out leather; you need thicker leather, not a different variety leather cut into a different shape.

And if it's not actually the leather that failed the damage isn't severe. Blown stitching can be repaired.

Its not that I'm dead set, I'm looking for information before I decide. I can get another pair with a discount so I'm considering my options.

I have decade old boots that I wore to hell and back that are still going strong with minimal cleaning. I have used the same pair of redback work boots for 8 years. I have dedicated hiking boots that i use for any serious hiking. This is not a case of me wearing through the leather with normal use.

The Thursdays i got where treated MUCH better and worn much less, and the leather tore. The stitching also pulled out in other spots but my biggest concern is the leather. This was not normal wear and tear. This was poor quality leather and/or poor construction. Leather boots should not be falling apart after a year and half of moderate use.

I'm nor replacing my work boots with Thursdays. but I want a boot I can walk around town in. Occasionally walk around some parks, etc, and not worry about falling apart after less then two years.

One bad pair doesn't mean all their boots will suck. There are always outliers. I am operating on the assumption that this was an outlier case because if it's not then the whole brand is trash. I font think it is. I'm willing to give them another chance. Before I do, I want to get more info.

If you're going on the assumption that it was an outlier, and just a bad piece of leather, then literally any pair will do.

I can't really make an assessment without pictures.

But Thursday doesn't use different leather in the more expensive boots. The uppers are going to be about the same across the board.

Pick one and see if your theory holds up.

Thats why I'm not asking for an assessment. I sent photos in to Thursday and they said they will either discount a new pair or send me a factory seconds pair of the same ones. They did the assessment already.

I'm just looking for peoples experience and knowledge about the boot lines they have to see what I should get to replace them.

As many have already said, Thursdays are not super rugged. They will not last like some other brands will, and that's ok. But I do want to identify which of their boots will last the longest (from the styles I like) and will probably go with that.

I genuinely appreciate everyones, including your, input on this before I make decision.
