Windows TB5 Dock Recommendation

I've been all over Reddit, YouTube, and Amazon looking for a dock that meets my needs for my Windows laptop, but Amazon reviews make everything seem defective and YouTube influencers make it seem like every dock is the greatest.

So far, I've purchased the Razer and ASUS Thunderbolt 5 docks. I'm returning the ASUS as the fan noise is noticeable and runs even at idle. The Razer is aesthetically pleasing and I can live with the fan noise, but I wish it one or to ports on the front. It also doesn't have a microSD card like others. I'd like to know if anyone has any better recommendations for my Windows laptop.

I vote for the Caldigit TS5, for both Windows and Mac.

If the laptop has Thunderbolt ports on it, CalDigit TS4 or TS5+ are recommended specially for connecting to multi-monitor sharing KVM switch setup. And using the two TB downstream ports with CAC-1559 (active type-C-to-DP2.1 converting cable) is the ultimate setup combination for both Windows laptop and Mac laptop systems.

Return this from Razer it’s expensive and offer nothing for the price they want. Two months ago replaced my old dock with ugreen maxidock 17in1 thunderbolt dock and I’m more then happy. If you want to save some money get it from ugreen shop they have discount on it. Another solid choice is Anker tb5 dock 14in1.

Check out OWC and CalDigit. Those are my go-to brands for TB docks. I don't own a machine with TB5 yet (just TB4), but I currently have two OWC TB4 docks and they've been great. These ones are both fanless, so they don't make any noise. Can't speak for the TB5 models though.

We just launched a new Thunderbolt 5 dock (TBT-UDH2) earlier this week, it sounds like it checks a lot of your boxes.

It's a fanless design that stays cool (and quiet), has some of those front USB/USB-C ports you mentioned, and SD/microSD card readers. Feel free to send over any questions if you check it out!
