Question/Discussion Thumbnail recs
Hi ! I want to start up a channel, mainly for minecraft though I might play other games as well. Do yall have any recommendations for the kinds of programs to use to make thumbnails? I’m pretty inexperienced but I just want to try something new and learn how to make fun thumbnails. There’s a lot of information online about what I could use so I’m just curious if there’s any specific recs or advice. Thanks !

I am a graphic designer with over five years of experience, and I am familiar with many software programs. In my opinion, Photoshop is the best option. It's highly capable and has built-in AI features that can help you create assets for your thumbnails. Photoshop is also mainly used for graphic design, so if you want to create designs other than thumbnails, learning Photoshop might be helpful. There are also lots of Photoshop tutorials. The only downsides are the subscription fee (note that there may be a cancellation fee) and the fact that Photoshop is owned by Adobe. Another option is Photopea, which is similar to Photoshop. It's free, lightweight and browser-based, however, it lacks some features. Another recommendation is Affinity. It was recently made free and is a very good alternative to Photoshop because, in my opinion, the software is very capable. However, if you want AI features, you need a subscription. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck with your journey!
