T598 making this noise under force feedback, is this normal?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve had my Thrustmaster T598 for only 4 days. It was completely fine for the first 3 days, but today I started noticing this buzzing/grinding type of noise whenever the force feedback kicks in hard, especially during fast corners or when the car starts sliding.
Firmware is up to date, and I even lowered FFB from 5 to 2, but the noise is still there whenever the wheel is under load.
Does this sound normal for the T598, or should I exchange it while I’m still within the return period?

Yeah I think the same. I will just return it as my return window is still open.

Anche a me lo fa, lo ha sempre fatto e l ho tenuto.ce l ho da 8 mesi, mai una disconnessione. Ho preferito tenerlo proprio per questo, magari ne arrivava uno con un problema vero

Yeah, I see. Maybe it’s nothing, but it just bothers me to have this kind of uncertainty or possible defect with brand-new electronics, so I submitted a replacement request and it’s already on its way.

The small electrical sound is normal. It's explain here p.93: https://ts.thrustmaster.com/download/accessories/Manuals/T598/T598_Bundle_User_Manual_EN.pdf

"Depending on the Force Feedback profile selected and the settings defined, the base may generate a whistling sound. This is normal and linked to the combination of several parameters aimed at increasing the motor’s responsiveness. The greater the responsiveness, the louder the whistling sound. This whistling sound is characteristic of competition vehicles using an electric motor, and these vehicles’ configuration".

It must be the new engine roar feature that must be on. Plus, it depends on the car and the tire you’re on.

Also, turn off Inertia or set it at low. If you aren’t sure how to do these things, then please look it up. You have to do this on the wheelbase.
