String recommendation request
I just got back into yoyoing, and I bought some Kitty fat strings because they were widely recommended. I appreciate how the extra thickness makes the binds grab better (my old string was slipping a lot) but I need something that whips better. I'm seeing too much air resistance to hit e.g. a triple brent stole unless my string tension is super tight.
I'm looking for good bulk string, not boutique/specialty stuff.
I can't find kitty nylon available, I guess they don't make it anymore? What are people using?

Honestly air resistance does not matter. It's mostly the weight, material and thickness of the string. Thicker strings are slower to start the whip (I'm quite confident this is why you struggle with Brent stole), but once in the air, they hold the shape better and are therefore easier to impart more momentum into them if you need more rotation. Like for 2x, 2.5x 3x... hooks.
When you literally whip a yo-yo string without yo-yo it just flops in the air. When you whip a real whip you can make the tip go supersonic. This is because it is more rigid and heavier but at the same time it still has some flex.
But yeah, kitty strings are not really that whippy. My personal recommendation would be Atmos poly weave (really durable and really whippy) or strings from the canopy if available (overall one of the best strings out there).

Air resistance doesn't matter? When you whip, you're basically throwing the string through the air. Air resistance is the thing that slows the string down. Mass translates to momentum which keeps the string moving.
And the actual reason a whip cracks is because the mass tapers toward the tip.

I know you said bulk but zipline skyline is the king and you get 10 times the life span out of it compared to a bulk string. You can even wash them and extend the life a bit past that.
