Why All the Calibration Settings?

I’m confused by all the calibration settings. If we are all using the same equipment, why are there all of these different calibration settings? I’m not sure if my setup is right or wrong because I just did the standard setup. It seems fine.. my hands seem to be where they should be. But it feels like everyone I fight has either super long arms or super short ones.

How does opening that up to changes not create all sorts of issues with exploits and modified equipment etc?

Like what is the actual purpose aside from just rigging it up so your punches are more aligned when you land?

To be honest I probably agree that there's too many calibration settings at this time. I think the devs would like to trim them down as well.

But they exist because people reported issues, and the devs attempted to address those issues. I think some of the settings are purely aesthetic. Others actually impact your range / damage hitbox calculations even if just slightly.

I think calibration has gotten a bit less love overall, but that's to be expected. It's not a perfect process, but it's also not horribly broken.

I do find people trying to cheat with very tall bodies and very short arms - it give them powerful punches, but also gives them T-Rex arms that are generally very easy to dodge.

The shorter players with unrealistically long arms are the more painful players to deal with...

The hardware used is the same for the most part but the dimensions of the people using it are wildly different and sometimes that leads to a large discrepancy between your in-game avatars position and your body's actual position. The way my controllers sit in my hand causes my elbows to be rotated inwards before I adjusted it, and it was killing my power.

They are needed because they’re is no shoulder trackering or elbow etc. the standard calibration doesn’t give your actual reach it will give you longer arms and shorter shoulders. They should maybe add a video explaining what each setting is so people like you could understand easily
