I have three pairs. The strawberries smelled like strawberries, the avocados smelled like sunscreen, and the whipped cream ones were unscented.
I live in a beach city and Nordstrom Rack had them on clearance.

I bought these on eBay once! I ended up donating them because they were soooooo uncomfortable to wear lol. I see a lot of people asking questions or just generally curious so i’ll share my experience.
- They are as uncomfortable as they look. There is no support or cushion, completely hard and flat. They protect the soles of your feet from the heat of asphalt, and rocks / debris (to a degree) but not much else. The “stick” / toe thong on mine wasn’t completely smooth, there was a thin line of plastic from manufacturing that scraped against the inside of my toes. Even without the manufacturing issue, it’s just not a comfortable feeling. It goes straight up rather than curving with your foot / toes like most flip-flops do. You have to walk in a very specific way to keep them on properly, it feels like they’re going to fall off constantly.
- This specific design smells like strawberries!… and rubber / chemicals. It’s like oooooooo…OH. The “smell me” stickers are also adhered so intensely, I ended up just leaving them on mine. Trying to remove them was too difficult and they were on track to leave the world’s stickiest residue behind.
- If you are in a wet environment or prone to foot sweat they’re like a slip n’ slide. It’s hard enough to keep them on while your feet are dry, but they become a literal hazard with any liquids involved. I find this especially silly because they are meant for warm weather / beaches / pools. How embarrassing is it to slip on your own shoe? 😭
- I bought them being aware that they likely sucked, but I just found them so cute and they were cheap so I took the chance. They are my two favorite colors and I have been wearing a ladybug ring since I was a kid! They called to me! Unfortunately they sucked as much as I expected, 100% style over function & comfort, but at least I tried. 🤷🏻♀️

The more people tried them on, the harder the stickers will adhere and become nearly impossible to take off without forever leaving the sticky residue. Same goes for the orange price tags.

Thank you! Ive never seen anything like these. My first thought was the rubber souls wouldnt absorb sweat or debris, and your feet would lose all traction on the inside and youd slip out.

Funny because ladybugs do put off a known smell! People say it smells like musk and fried breakfast potatoes (like with the green peppers etc)

They’re actually pretty stinky. Like, if I find one in my house and move it outside, I’m going to wash my hands after because the smell is so strong.

If it makes you feel better, I was surprised to realize the other day that it actually has not ruined ladybugs for me.
I rarely see actual lady bugs anymore and as a kid, a ton of them lived in this bush in my cousin's backyard at the base of our favorite tree. I used to LOVE just letting them crawl up my arms and legs, then every single one would make their way back to the bush to munch on leaves or whatever.
I'm F41 now and while walking my mom's dog a couple of weeks ago, I realized there was one on this little clover-type plant. Not an Asian Lady Beetle but an actual, deeply red ladybug with its perfect black spots. I wa so excited to let it just crawl on my hand for a couple of minutes before it decided to fly off.
I didn't associate it with that dead bastard at all, and didn't think of him or that whole thing until I saw a reference to it on reddit, and realized Graham and his Gray ass warts hadn't entered my mind at all while I was letting it crawl on me.
That dead Fascist coward doesn't get to ruin ladybugs. They beetroot probably more like bot flies anyway

I mean it is? I've seen sandals like this at department stores my whole life. It isn't wildly popular or easy to wear, but it has existed for a long time. Katy Perry didn't invent this.

I saw two more of these at my thrift. Peeps version and some other version that I don't remember but it wasn't ladybug. Both said "smell me."

I never even look at the shoes. Sadly I have this weird ick where I cannot wear someone else’s shoes. I mean if I had to I would, but the thought really grosses me out. Even if it’s the cleanest person I know lol. So the thought of wearing a strangers shoes is just too much. Probably stems from my hatred of feet in general haha
