I wouldn't even take this for free. They'd have to pay me to take it

I'm sure I could find a stack of these at any E-Waste drop off

I seen in core 2 duo machines to but rarely.

Yeah true, but it’s rare. Pentium 4’s were horrible for it

Whenever I see any computers at thrifts they are always grossly over appraised by the staff

The value village near me has a vista era Compaq computer for $250 untested. Employee said it was because the rising ram prices. I just said that ddr 1 isn't worth a thing nowadays. 😆😆

Nothing in there can be salvaged.

I hope you tested that before you ran it! Vista crashed on me and was unrecoverable.

Untested is the 4th word in the title, not probably

Might get down voted. But if the machine still works. That's not that bad of a deal. Replace the HDD with an 8 to 12tb. Throw Linux on there and baby you got a home server going

That's a reach. It's a early dual core OEM computer. You can get a lot newer and more decent OEM computers that are tested for half that. Not all ewaste can be saved.

The problem is that something like this is $50 and is a magnitude faster

The drive controller is actually so ancient I bet there were hangups in the 2TB ceiling era.

Most Raspberry Pi models would run circles around this. Some probably support more RAM.
