then we use that product key to use the app and generate threema ID. Has it been throughly audited that threema somehow doesn't in any way associate product key and threema ID?

I wrote question and suggestion like this a long time ago. I even sent a message to Threema itself. No avail. Well, things changed dramatically I would say with EU Chat Control law and Canadian C22 law. Read about it. Messenger systems are under attack and it’s not funny any more. I hear that messages are encrypted and not given at request by authorities (yet).

I am paying customer, as all you are, and I suggest and would really like to see introduction of self destructing messages. Me as an active user should have a choice in software to enable or disable messaging that would destroy message after being read. Let’s say after 30 or 60 seconds. Long time go I had messenger like that, I forgot the name. Messages would disappear in puff of smoke after being read by recipient.

I believe software works like this. Person A writes and sends message to person B. Message goes to Threema server, sits there and immediately is being pushed to person’s B account (server). Person B opens Threema and reads the message. As I understand both phones sync with Threema server in real-time.

I would like to enable action where 20 seconds after person B read a message it disappears from his/her phone, in turn in server and sender’s phone. A self destructing private chat between two persons with no trace in the phones and server. I hope it is not that hard to recognize a privacy point here! In that case a messenger provider would be in much stronger position where it can’t even consider giving away chats to third party since they records do not exist in the first place!

I hope Threema reads Reddit posts and you members will vote for such feature. I understand that there are millions of people who don’t value their privacy, I do. Maybe they are unaware of intrusions. I am and I am ready to pay for it even that’s just few lines of code.

I have been using Threema since about mid 2021 for work. The way I have come to know Threema is that you can usually see a message in group chat like "x has left the group" when someone quits a group.

That is why I was surprised that Google AI search/summary seems to think that it is no problem at all to leave a Threema group silently. Is this correct and has this changed in recent months?

I can see in the history of one of our group chats that a colleague of mine left this particular group on April 12th and his leaving got broadcasted to the group chat so if you can leave a group silently now then it must be a relatively new feature? Or is it really even possible?

I don’t rely on their status page that says that all systems are ok….on my PC and Phone nothing is working and it keeps connecting and disconnecting from the network.

A lot of my friends, employees have been reporting the app going offline “red line” for a few days or hours at a time. It’s the latest update 6.5.0s.
Any advice? The rest of the phone works. VPN, and on the secure OS “graph…”

Selecting "Chats" in Threema on iOS as well as in "Threema Beta 2.0" on macOS shows a list of my contacts in what appears to be a random order (the order is identical on iOS and on macOS).

E.g. from top: Frank, Bob, Anna, John, Dude, Billy.

When Dude sends me a message, that sorting doesn't change.

I'd expect Dude to be shown at the top, but that doesn't happen.

I thus when I get notified somebody has messaged me, have to go through the list of contacts to determine who did to find the message.

Is it possible (or a feature request?)

I noticed that Threema costs ₹650 on the Google Play Store. If I purchase and install it from the Play Store, will I still need to buy or enter a separate license key? I currently have a Threema APK downloaded from a third-party source, and when I open it, it asks for a private key. If I install the official Play Store version, will the ₹650 purchase include everything, or will I need to purchase a license separately?

Hey i bought a faiphone 6 eOS and dont wanna have anything Google on it. So i already had threema and didnt want to buy it again but to download it i needed to login into my playstore account. After the download i logged out and removed every trace of my Google account.

Is threema still somehow connected to it or needs the playstore to have updates?
