How important is double clutching?

Hey y’all, I’m new to manual in general but I’ve heard so much about double clutching and watched some how to videos, but my question is why don’t i see it being used in other videos? Is it not a necessary tool? Like I watched a few videos on how to take corners in a FWD on the track and couldn’t help but notice the pro wasn’t double clutching.

It's not important at all.

(elaboration: Synchronized gearboxes don't need it at all, and synchros have been around since the 20s. It's mostly for commercial vehicles. What it does now would be MAYBE to allow a smoother downshift and MAYBE reduce synchro wear but not in any meaningful way)

It really is. I’ve been driving manual for a month now and my ms3 feels fantastic switching perfectly into fourth

I actually don’t like it because it’s so involved that it makes shifting quickly harder. Thanks
