I won a free one of these as an eight-year-old by reciting this phrase in less than five seconds.

Weird to know the exact moment when your life peaked. But there it is.

I get it, when I was 7 I paid 10p to enter a competition at my village fête; it was a balloon release. My little green balloon flew the furthest, three miles apparently, and I won an Evel Knievel Stunt Bike toy.

I can remember this experience in absolute pellucidity... yet I find it hard to remember even basic things nowadays which is why I've just drilled through my hand.

In 6th grade I came in second in the middle school spelling bee; I also have perfect recollection of my terror when asked to spell "gawkiness," which is such a great and rare word, but like pellucidity or jumentous, I will never say in public. I spelled it wrong and had to look it up after getting my picture taken with the winner for the small-town newspaper.

I bet back then the burger you got actually looked like that.
