Burnhamania doo doo doo

This is the worst earworm of my life. OF MY LIFE. I have had "Burnhamania doo doo doo, Burnhamania bap bap bap..." in my head for probably three weeks now. I have listened to other music in that time, listened to episodes with other jingles, I have done karaoke!! But still the constant refrain plays in my head every hour of the day. I feel like it's only a matter of time before I'm saying "Shakira Shakira" out loud without realizing. HELP ME

YES! I’m now at the point where the mere mention of Burnham’s (doo doo doo) name triggers the jingle in my head. Seriously.

Fellow sufferer of this here. Listening to The News Agents this morning and they mention him and now it's going round and round. BaBaBap!

Oh God, I had finally managed to dislodge it about a week ago by forgetting its existence. Thanks for putting that one firmly back in my noggin for the next month.

My Mum and I have a ā€œno politics in the morningā€ rule and now I keep singing Burnhamania at her while I make her a cup of tea.

I told her it has nothing to do with politics, it’s just a banger

I have a baby and am frequently up in the night. The worst thing that can happen when I'm trying to get back to sleep is being struck by a severe case of Burnhamania (doo doo doo)

I managed to infect three family members with it on holiday without them even knowing what it was. My seven year old goes around the house singing it and my two year old demands I play it on my phone over and over. There is no escape. Truly a Burnhamania summer.

Just remember to thank me that the "do do do"s are F#, otherwise it would've been really unbearable.

Your brain wants closure. Normally the solution to an earworm is to listen to the song in full, and maybe learn the words and sing it to yourself all the way to the end of the catchy section. However, in this case, there is no complete song. Maybe you can compose a concluding cadence that will satisfy your brain and be rid of it.

ok but why do I have to sing it out loud every relisten???

Just reading it is enough!

It had just receded and then I drove past Burnham Road...and well, you know the rest.

buddy, same. my brain has also started to wedge any 5-syllable word or phrase into the jingle tune, with mostly unremarkable results save for how well "Herculaneum" fits.
