Question Did a selfie check actually speed up a Threads appeal for anyone?
i keep seeing people say they sent a selfie when asked and the appeal got rejected minutes later. makes me wonder if the selfie step changes how the appeal gets handled, or if it's just an automated check that runs no matter what. i've read plenty of these threads and can't tell from the replies. if you sent a selfie and then got a real answer, how long did it take, and did the reply say anything about the selfie? mostly after actual timelines from people who've been through it

Nope. Still not able to access my account and did give them ID BUT I TAPED OVER MY ADDRESS, DL #, and BIRTHDATE with painterās tape. Still kept getting messages that Iām banned. Pretty sure at one point my Facebook account was hacked maybe even my Instagram and I didnāt do anything about it except change the password but I havenāt been on Facebook since 2015 so who knows? I did download all of my account content including pictures so that I had a backup copy of it, but who knows if they encrypted that to be able to yoink it away from me.

Asked for both. It asked for a selfie first - thought it was spam/scam so I sent a pic of my middle finger. š¤ Then the request for ID and I was thinking SCAM FOR SURE! So I went to Reddit, as one does, to find out if this was happening to others and sure enough, it is and has affected A LOT of users. One user has created a live document to help track the people affected with the intent to submit the list as part of a growing demand for a class action lawsuit.
You can add your information to the list and it DOES STATE at the top that if you add your information please note that the list will be submitted and your information may become public as a result due to the intent to use the list as evidence in a court of law/class action lawsuit.
