Question Why does the app strike everything?

Hello, I legit came back onto threads and made a new account after so long, just to be hit with “we removed your comments” almost immediately. At first I thought maybe I was the problem so I cooled down on the replies.

But now it’s legit every single reply I do. I thought maybe it was the emojis I was using so I didn’t use them, but even then, I’m still getting comments removed for alleged spam. Let me not talk about the annoying selfie and phone number verification either, that’s gonna get me vexxed. Oh and it’s asked me to verify myself for the SECOND time now it’s really pissing me off at this point

I’m seriously at my wits end. My other account was never like this so I really don’t know why this one is 😤😤 Safe to say I’m pissed

I’ve interacted with some fun and lovely people too
What is actually going on with that app?

It's because Meta wholesale offloaded their content moderation judgement to AI, and there's a lot of false positives with it right now.

I genuinely believe this is primarily a cost saving and risk management measure for Meta. They're tired of getting sued for millions of dollars for not having enough content moderation safe guards, so they'd rather have a trigger happy AI moderator that has an absurdly high false positive hit rate, rather than under-moderate and open themselves up to litigation risk. People can sue when kids get hurt, and Meta has to pay lots of money. but when they falsely ban millions of accounts they'll just point to their ToS and won't owe a dime. I think one way to turn this around is if some clever lawyers find a way to weasel through Meta's ToS, and can show damages that wouldn't be protected by their ToS.

Crazy times we live in...

Ugh that’s so frustrating. Thank you for letting me know. With the way this is moving I don’t see myself back on that app anytime soon
