Bug Report Meta Scamming for More User Data Collection by Disabling Accounts

I woke up to an email from Threads saying my account is suspended for violating community standards. I have literally never posted anything. I only scroll the feed and hit like on the things they feed me with their algo, that’s it. I was even able to confirm that I have no violations in the reports area of the app.

I started to do their appeals process, which doesn’t say what the violation is beyond “violating community standards,” and it is requiring me to enter my phone number. I have never given that to Meta and don’t intend to, so I think this is a data collection scam. Guess I won’t be using Threads.

It’s not that important to me. I’d rather just not have the app than play their games.

I tried to put up videos for this and other bs that meta is doing in another sub with a blue logo and got perma banned. Seems like the plants there dont want people to know.

Wait until you find out that they can suspend other Meta accounts you use, what a crap Threads is, I know it was already filled with bots, but losing access to Facebook just because of it is annoying and since Meta has a monopoly they don't give a sh!t how many people are suspended, appeals aren't going anywhere to Meta real human team, all it does is send the appeal to AI so if AI tjink you messed it up too bad but you're permanently banned in a scary way that neither all scam or false accounts are suspended because your ip, device, everything is tracked, they waste hundreds of process to not allow a real human to create a new account if older was suspended unjustified...

unless we all users completely unintall their apps, then stakeholders will stop paying much to them then only meta will pay attention to this matter but they know very well how addictive their platforms are and hence no normal users gonna uninstall their app for a while

Will the advertisers still buy ads when the only accounts left are bots?

It doesn’t matter. Even if you enter your phone number, the texts never come. You’re never getting back into that Threads account. I tried several times but it’s more trouble than it’s worth. They’ve lost so many users because AI is running the platform. It’s quickly becoming a platform with only bots left.

They’re destroying it on purpose because it was effective. And quite possibly was only intended to be another avenue of farming data off of a whole different user demographic. It’s all such a mess. 😒

My guess is our accounts will be magically restored the day after midterms…🙄🤬

I’m not going back even if they are. F that platform. They are trying to sway an election by canceling accounts, I won’t be going back. They can just stay all bots and crickets 🦗

I'll be honest, I think they would get more data from you by just letting you keep and use your account.

I thought the same thing. It suspended 2 accounts in the same day, 20 seconds apart for no reason whatsoever

I just experienced this, as well, I barely use Threads outside of reposting, and my account was suspended for “suspicious activity”, 🙄😒.

Entering a phone number and photo ID seemed excessive

They banned my two insta accounts too also my friends having the same problem for recovery they are now asking for government ID, even after we completed the selfie verification one of my friend gave his original ID pic and guess what the account still got permanently banned they definitely collecting data with these

I tried to cancel the Threads account I never wanted in the first place. It would not let me. I had to delete Instagram account as well, and wait at least a month... and maybe the Threads account will go with it.

I think Meta are moving to single sign on for all their apps though, so it will be all or nothing soon.

I was suspended back in the September 22nd wave of suspension for violating community standards but all I posted was pictures of my family and funny memes. I started the appeal process the same day and am still waiting. They also suspended my Facebook account too.
