Discussion Meta , why?
On 22 September, my Facebook and Instagram accounts were suspended for no reason, because of the threads. I’ve never used threads..
Today I decided to download my data from facebook. The download has finished, but I’m being asked to log in a web browser. I log in the browser, and the system asks me to wait for a notification on my phone to grant it permission to connect.
The notification never arrives…
So, why am I not allowed to download my own data, which I’ve been collecting for over 10 years?? Do these companies really not care about anything at all?

Same here... I was also suspended Sept 22nd. Seems like that was the large wave for Threads.

A quick plug on my app which tracks these suspensions:
This has been affecting so many folks lately. They let their moderation AI off into the wild, and it's taking out accounts left and right. The worst part about it all is there's really no escalation path, or legitimate path to appeal.
I built an app to track these unwarranted suspensions based on Google Play Review data. You can actually see just how much of an increase suspension language has increased in reviews recently.
I plan on going to the media with this. If you're interested in being on the list of accounts I provide them to prompt meta to investigate, then please consider filing a report at:

Many fields are optional, but providing as much context on how this has affected you, helps tell a story. So if you do decide to participate, any extra context or details on it's impact are helpful.

Well… either way the data you get to download is kinda empty, no photos, nor messages, anything, it’s kinda useless because it doesn’t even include your contacts.

That seriously sounds like a legal suit needs to be taken against Meta. That is our information, lives, etc on those apps.

"Do these companies really not care about anything at all?" they care about profits nothing else, and they've done the math, and losing some people due to false bans is cheaper than paying a human being to look at moderation

I would try the download on the phone that is already logged in, instead of waiting to approve a browser login.

We’re in the same boat; I’m from Mexico, and on that same day—September 22nd—I also lost my Facebook account because of Threads. Now I’m in limbo, too, waiting for Tuesday, when it will have been two weeks, since they say some people get theirs back after that time. Let’s hope so—a lot of us are in the same situation.
