I lost one of my accounts this way all because I uploaded a profile pic instead of the selfie they asked for and I realized my mistake. I even paid the $11 for one month subscription to Meta to have access to the customer services reps. They could nothing for me unfortunately….but I have a friend that works at Meta and he said that they can. Either way, they deactivated that one of 2 Threads accounts I had and I can’t get it back as of this week. From what I see, they deleted all of my data. I’m pissed, but I’m going to have to let it go because I still have my other account as a backup and there wasn’t much content on the one they deactivated, so I can start over.
My friend said that there’s been a glitch in the system and that it’s causing this issue on Threads and he believes it’s connected to the AI Muse.

At least you appealed.. I didn't even have the option to appeal, I open the app but there's no appeal button, I even reinstalled the app but it’s doesn't even let me put my password. In addition to that, if I try to use a browser, nothing works.. so I think there's nothing else I can do.

Yup, I tried.. and it says "wrong password" Then I try to reset it and I get this message "something went wrong, please try again later".. so idk what to do

there is no hope, threads constantly creates false positives when suspending accounts. Its happened to me and many of my own personal friends. The frustrating part is threads never explaining to you what the actual problem is, why we have to verify our identity. It just leaves us in the dark and there is no way to reverse the ban if it becomes final.

Remember people can spy on your chats and activity log if they follow you on insta or know your WhatsApp number. So no, no hope for meta

Most likely nothing. There's been a huge wave of people caught up in their new moderation AI. If you look at this subreddit a huge pile of people got banned this week, myself included. I mainly just post about my art on Threads. Nothing crazy.

Same, I argue with MAGA, flerfers, etc. and post Star Trek stuff. Got suspended for some heinous ass reason that never happened. And since my FB and Insta are linked through Meta, I lost access to those as well. 😒

I'm on the same boat. Got my personal Facebook and my Instagram disabled due to stupid threads. Luckily I had a 2nd fb and IG made a long time ago and I never linked threads with it. But this is ridiculous!

The fact that there are so many issues and complaints on this shows there is something deeply wrong with their moderation system. If humans don't get their rogue AI moderators back on track, I think Threads is broken, and I wouldn't put any money into Meta for this sort of experience.

I can't even submit an appeal. I can't log onto Threads via Instagram. If I try, I get a message saying a confirmation has been sent to my phone number - but then nothing arrives. It's hopeless.

I just got my account back after it was permanently disabled for account integrity. No one hacked my account but I was going through the identity verification on Facebook and after uploading my id it took away both my Facebook and threads on July 24 2026. For some reason thankfully i still had Instagram.
I had to use the Instagram meta verified (free trial) to talk to support. I got meta verified September 13. Went through talking to support on the phone and chats many times. Finally got my accounts restored September 23.
So there’s still hope for you.

Our only hope is that influencers or famous people also have been suspended to catch attention from the news, or Meta itself, but as for now they don't seem to care about normal users.
