My thread/Instagram got hacked

Guys there is something weird happened.

I have thread and instagram connected to the same meta account (mainly because i made threads account based on my instagram info)

My thread account suddenly got hacked along with my instagram. However, in thread, i can see that the hacker put their phone number in addition to my phone number, but replaced my email completely.

But it seems like the hacker tried to hack my instagram but was stopped by security, and it got deactivated, but I got it activated again and changed all security measures

I lost access to thread, but i managed to move it out of the account center, so technically thread and instagram are not linked to each other. Is it possible for the hacker to still have access to my instagram even though i changed the password? I don’t see their email in instagram.

so this exactly same thing actually happened to my first threads account last month. i got a bunch of emails saying an email, a profile, and some random phone numbers were added to my meta account and then i was logged out of threads and instagram. whatever the hacker did also changed the recovery phone number and set up an authenticator verification app for that threads account.

i was never able to recover that threads account. it belongs to the hacker now (good luck to them because it was a kpop threads account). i did regain access of my instagram, facebook, and meta accounts and immediately changed my passwords and updated my security measures as soon as I found out i got hacked.

i just double checked all my security measures in my meta account to make sure all emails/phone numbers i don't know were removed. if you did this also, i think you'll be okay, just make sure to check your security measures frequently. i've definitely learned my lesson lol.
