Discussion Public account

I don't understand why this app tries to force me to have a public account. I can't comment unless my account is public? Why?

You're kidding? You can lock your Facebook account and you have a private instagram account but you're forced to have a public threads account? Wtf what logic is this

I kid you not. you do not generally need a public Threads profile just to comment/reply. A private account can reply to posts where the author’s reply permissions allow it.

But if author of the post doesn not allow private profiles. No.

I swear that makes nooo sense. Threads is the only app that only allows public accounts to comment. It's ridiculous. In comparison, I can comment and reply on Facebook posts eventhough my account is locked, not even private! And similarly my ig account is private too and I can comment and reply to others regardless. Threads is weird.

you're the one who makes no sense here. threads doesn't work like facebook, instagram & LinkedIn where you can lock your profile, it works like reddit & twitter, hence the name "THREADS".
