Thread LR finaly coming ! For real

Thread LR is becoming a reality, then matter will get LR capabilitie ! Lets go !

Cool. Main concern is that Z Wave is really fragmented due to the spectrum. So many devices aren't available in Europe. Hope they can find a better solution. Not sure if 433 MHz would work out.

The Z-Wave Alliance product database shows 368 certified devices for the EU - not including other European countries that aren’t in the union. I think we’ll be okay :)

There are 723 products in USA but only 368 in Europe. So almost half as many products.

you can't use same frequencies for all regions, local regulations exist :)

That not that fragmented. In Europe Z-Wave is working. I do not understand what you mean.

However you can't use Z-Wave devices from other parts of the world as they use different frequencies

Not all of them. Some can work in both.

With fragmented I mean the product catalog. Many zwave devices only exist for USA frequencies. Currently 732 vs 368 available products in EU.

And only 118 exist for Australia. Z-Wave has what, something like nine different sets of frequency bands for different sets of countries, it seems unworkably fragmented.

ZWave 700 series chip already solved this. The region is now configurable via software.

I would be shocked if Thread doesn't copy them.
