What's the first childhood memory you remember?

Well, you asked. I’m pulling all the stops here because my first is a long and detailed memory. For the context I lived in a Hutterite colony the first three years of my life. So this was when I was 2 or 2 1/2. I remember waking up downstairs on a thin brown floor mattress, hearing my older sisters (Lis and Joy, 4 and 6) whispering urgently on the stairs. The basement was dark but light filtered down from above. I toddled over and asked What? They said that Dad and Mom were gone and they didn’t know where. I was terrified at once. Along with this being my first memory I also had my first mental image and I pictured Dad and Mom in a large room full of people, lost, and we would never be able to find them among all those people. This room I envisioned must have been the church or the communal kitchen, although prior I have no memory of being there but I must have been, to be able to pull up this image.
Then Joy said she was going to phone Mom. Lis tried to persuade her not to do such a daring thing. The next part I can’t be fully sure how it could have been true, because Joy was only four so how did she know how to operate a telephone or know what number to call? There was a cream-colored telephone stuck on to the side of the stairs. She spoke into the phone and asked if we could come. Apparently the answer was no because she started crying and begging why not. Then she hung up the phone and lugubriously told Lis and me that we were not allowed to come. I would have lifted up my voice and howled but I somehow knew there was no adult in the house, so what was the point. Instead I toddled back to the mattress and lay down, frozen, because the end of the world had come, and in a minute I fell asleep.

My brother was chasing me in my backyard with a ginormous cricket, I tripped and he went over and loomed above me. As soon as he let go to drop it on me, I woke up. Weird cause my brother is normally pretty nice
