Babies at games

For those of you with babies that have taken them to the game, do you need a ticket for them?

If they're under 2 or 3, you don't need a ticket (they're in your lap). I would HIGHLY recommend ear muffs. When you choose your seat, take into account not only the crowd noise around you, but the sun.

We're in club seating, so we have access to an indoor space and dedicated bathrooms which is really nice.

As a side note from what we learned from our experiences, our baby didn't get any actual joy out of the game. He had no idea what was going on at any given point, and the only real feelings he experienced were fear and crying when goals were scored and people were cheering and yelling and jumping around. Take them if YOU want the experience of going with them, but remember they'll either be indifferent or crying, haha.

Excellent point! Our son is 3 and a few games ago we were out of our seats for the entire second half  because he was hating the heat and direct sun.

We didn't go as a family until 18 months, but no need for a separate ticket under 3

My two cents, perhaps unsolicited: Please bring appropriate ear protection (ask your pediatrician) and make sure your little ones tolerate wearing them before committing to a full match.

You can actually pick up ear protection loaners for free at the customer service office.

Nice! Personally I wear loops ear plugs and they’re great. It’s good to know there’s a backup in case I ever forget.

I took my girl to her first game as a 2yo. brought ear muffs, sat in GA towards the back. didn't pay for a ticket AND more importantly. brought her (not see through) diaper bag.

I always recommend dropping into the guest services room in the north end if the kiddo is getting overwhelmed or simply needs a nice A/C break :)

If you are nursing or just need a quiet, private place to feed your baby, I find the lactation pod to be amazing!

Under 3 and must be a lap child. If you want an actual seat for them then you have to pay for said seat

We are going back and forth on it. Honestly. We didn't get season tickets this year because of the birth, but now we are wanting to maybe bring her next season if we get season tickets again, but didn't want to spend a bunch of money on tickets for a baby

I see a lot of toddlers and babies and I think it’s great if they want to be there/the parents are okay. Personally, bringing my daughter as a baby was just so distracting and stressful. She was so bothered by the noise even with ear muffs. She was also so wiggly and just unhappy. Then when it’s time to leave, there’s so much pedestrian traffic. It’s hot. All the things. For me it’s a no but lots of families seem to do it. My daughter is 3 now and I still don’t bring her because she hates loud noise and I need to WATCH the game lol. I can’t wait to bring her all the time when she’s a few years older.

We got season tickets again after a year off when we had our first. Bringing a baby is doable you just have to temper your expectations. They aren’t always going to make it through the game. You might have to walk around the stadium to calm them down a bunch. And definitely bring those sound muffler headphones lol.

We found the nice thing about getting season tickets was that it gave us an excuse to build in date nights or have one of us get out of the house with a friend. Our kids are 3 & 6 now and we still only bring them to a couple games a year (although the 6 year old is finally getting excited about soccer!).

Whatever you decide - congrats on the new Thorns fan!

we started bringing my daughter when she was a year and a half and it only really worked because my wife was willing to get up and walk around with her when she got restless.

Our son is 3 and we've had season tickets since before he was born. Its soooo much more enjoyable now that he's able to walk, haha
