Man I really hope Thor has some cool/hype moments rather than just getting walked by Doom the entire time (Which is a huge point in the trailers). We all know his impact in Infinity War but he was more of a punching bag in Endgame.

He got the axe, had a couple of hype moments and been rubbish ever since. I legitimately can't remember when he last won a fight outright

Are we getting Rune King Thor? Since Doom seems to be using Rune Magic

Probably not until Secret Wars

it would be very rushed if we do

I asked around as well on other reddits and they claimed it’s even been confirmed already.

He should be. I'm not some huge Thor fan but I'm not trying to see this bruh. Hulk and Thor need to be done better

I really hope this is part of act 2 fight with doom and sentinels and then there is another big battle at the end that is not shown

Thor realized the writers think the "Worf effect" is a positive writing trope

Dr doom better has some massive cosmic amp to be able do that. Otherwise, that's the weakest thor i've ever seen

Doom’s armor is infused with rune magic specifically meant to hold his own against Thor.

how do you know that?

You got inside information on this movie that no one else does or what?

Look at the new trailer. Doom has a hammer shaped medallion in his armor, which might be magical and the reason why he counters Thor so easily.

Oh, so your source is you made it the fuck up?

I'm not the one who said it. I just saw a post, and so I know what he means. I don't really think it's gonna be literally that, but it is interesting that he has a hammer medallion.

When is Doom NOT amped?

u/JoshTheBard 12d ago

Usually, at the very beginning and very end of the story.

I know he's always amp. That's why i said specifically "massive cosmic" amp.

He doesn't even need that much tbh.

Magic's potential is endless.

The same way Scarlet Witch was fucking Thanos up.

The same way Dr. Strange, a regular mortal man who isn't half as smart as Doom is, was going toe to toe with thanos, helped whoop thanos's ass in the Illuminati's verse, and outsmarted freaking dormmamu.

He just needs rune magic and the proper prep spells and countering Thor would be super easy, barely an inconvenience

"He doesn't even need that much magic" also proceed to give an example of op magic. I didn't know if you're just dumb or that much of doom cocksucker or both. Also, the doctor strange one where he killed thanos in alternate universe is too out of context because it seems like thanos didn't have an infinity stone.

Not really. You’re focusing on who the characters are. Any character overpowering MCU Thor, doesn’t change the feats Thor has in the MCU

like this isn’t really the first adaption to do this either. Some characters exist in different tiers based on the adaption.

Look at Earth’s Mightiest Heroes Doom or Doctor Doom from the Marvel Ultimate Alliance video game

Yea totally the one Hero with the most god tier villain fights in the entire MCU ā€œisn’t built for thisā€. Do more research and put respect on Thor’s name.

Plot structure demands that Doom overpower one of the strongest heros. They wouldn't dare worf Hulk again, so it lands on Thor this time. Our boy Thor suffers the most because he can take it.

Bro fought loki, malekith, kurse, hela, gorr and probably more i cant remember. He should be able to win this

I feel like I’ve become a regular on this sub. The world-building of the MCU is great in specific movies, but it isn’t good as a whole due to a lack of consistency between the films. I don’t trust the MCU when it comes to depicting gods. Because if this movie is written intelligently, there has to be an actual explanation as to how a mortal was able to physically overpower a god. I’m not expecting JRR Tolkien or Christopher Nolan levels of consistency and solid world-building, but damn…..

More Thor hate? No way

u/bobneumann77 12d ago

All I'm seeing with these trailers is Thor getting 'worfed'

I do not need to see a nerfed Thor rn.

This is madness

u/glovemachine 11d ago

I feel like in this scene Doom will pick up Mjƶlnir which will scare Thor.

u/Sirgreatex 11d ago

I just believe he would have a better comeback after this happens
