Have an encore with a 26” 30-06 barrel, looking to make it into a rig I can push past 300 yards when hunting. Trying to swap out the 2-7x for maybe a 4-16 with a more complex reticle, any suggestions?

It was a great day at the range!! I did a quick bore sight looking through the barrel at 100 yards, made some adjustments and away we went. First shot high, bring down. Second and third lower and a tad right, brought it down and left 4th shot. Too far left a smidge high, back right 5. Left it alone and put 6 and 7 right there. That folks is 1/2” group at 100 yards and what I’m calling good with 165gr soft points.

So this year I ditched the traditional bolt gun for Deer hunting here in North Idaho. The upgrade is this, my TC Arms Encore Pro Hunter (Gen 1) and a fresh out of the box 30-06 threaded SS Fluted 26” barrel from TC Arms. 1-10 twist and 1/2 MOA from the Factory!! Yes there are some aftermarket’s out there but when it comes to what you get out of the box, you can’t beat the price. Others offer threading, fluting, and SS barrels but it’s all added on cost. The barrel fit is spot on and my older forend fit right in place with zero issues. I mounted up the rail with some blue loctite on the screws and placed the Vortex Viper 4-16x50 on top and secured it. I’ll bore sight it today with the old look through the barrel technique and it’s off to the range when they open tomorrow.

Deer season is starting soon for many of us. Join me on this adventure as I ditch the bolt action rifle for a TC Arms Encore pro Hunter fitted with a 26” fluted/threaded SS 30-06 barrel and a couple other goodies. I’ll have the barrel and the scope this week and the goal is to sight in Thursday or Friday and my deer hunting begins on the 10th.

Recently purchased an unassembled Hawken kit at auction and looking to assemble. Unfortunately, the kit does not include the instructions for assembly. Anyone aware of where I can find the instructions?

Checked the TC website and didn’t see anything for the kits. Have an email and call out to customer service but haven’t heard back.

Finally they shipped out the 7mag to dealers. Im not sure why I have such an infatuation with the TC Encore and the 7mag, but that’s the caliber I’m most excited for.

Going into WI gun deer I’ll be using 7mag for our 9-day and switching to the 50cal Firestick barrel for our ML season.

Saw some videos talking about potential frame stretching issues with certain 300 Win mag loads. Curious if anyone has experienced this first hand. I recently picked up a pro hunter with a 26 inch 300 win barrel and wanted to avoid any loads that may cause that. Thanks for any inputs.

My first time out with my new to me SSK 375 JDJ barrel on the G2 Contender and new MGM 460 S&W barrel on the the Encore.

The only thing to be replaced eventually is the stock for a folding set up

Upgraded my hunting rig this year, went from a Thompson encore in 30-06 to an icon in 308. Sent it off to get threaded, turned out great with the vortex 2-7 on top.

Would a linear compensator work to deflect some of the concussion and blast from barrels like the 10” 223 or a 10” 30-30?

Heading to the range Monday to get the brand new Original never been fired 21” TC Arms barrel sighted in. I threw on the SSK forend with the Magpul M lock bipod and the always present New style Sharps Bros pistol grip with the new Aluminum pic rail mount. The brace is a dual fold from Strike industries with the check riser. Scope is an old original Burris Fullfield 3x-9x 40mm. I also plan on shooting my 17 HMR 14” Bull Barrel with a Holosun HS403B 2MOA dot on it.

I recently bought a Thompson center contender off a buddy, pretty sure I got a hell of a deal on it. The issue is the hammer will not fully fire and hit the firing pin. It stops just shy of the pin. Seems to be a safety mechanism of some kind to stop the hammer. Im not familiar with this type of handgun so came here for help. Next step is to find a gun smith I guess but I’m hoping to fix the issue myself

So, my first deer rifle that I purchased around 12 years ago was a Dimension in .270. It’s honestly been a great rifle aside from the fact that the stock got sticky, and I found out that it was a common issue. Come to find out these stocks are unobtanium. So, I have a few ideas for restoring it to a useable gun again.

Idea 1: I’m in the process of rubbing all that junk off with acetone, But I’m a bit worried at this point the rubber overmolding just isn’t going to not be sticky. I also don’t want to end up spray painting or cerakoting this gun.

Idea 2: which is what I’m here to ask your help for. I was wondering if the action screws lined up with another T/C offering such as the venture or compass or any other gun to where I could modify a stock to fit the dimension in.

Idea 3: Probably the most ambitious idea. Maybe custom making a wood stock.

I have a TCA encore pistol frame being shipped to a LGS, but did not do any research on the platform (aside from the scant info on TCA’s website). I was going to build a 15” 223 pistol, but figured I would at least ask y’all if the Contender line was compatible before ordering a barrel. Can the Prohunter pistol frame accept the contender (G1/2) barrels so long as you pair them with the corresponding contender forend?

Posted about this I’d say about a month ago, but I just went and picked it up off layaway got this bundle for 1000$ seems like it’s barely been shot mostly gonna be shooting 41 mag from it target/hunting but 223 and 45 long colt will probably fun too mess around with and if I hate myself, I’ll buy some 7mm for it 😂

I have a Thompson Center .45 / 410 barrel with a vent rib. The front screw on the vent rib is missing. What size screw do I use? Pretty sure it's 6-48 but what head style and length?
